Banner Blast stamp set scrapbook page

I wasn’t planning on reviewing this scrapbook page I made using the Banner Blast stamp set but I have received several emails asking me about it. So I thought I would do this post answering the questions.

Happy Birthday Q- Where can I find the products you used on the scrapbook page with the banners?

A- I created this page using 3 of the items being offered during Sale-A-Bration. The Banner Blast stamp set (133551), I punched the banners out using the Banner punch (133519 ) & the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper (133521 ).

Q- Where can I find the alphabet set you used on the scrapbook page with the banners?

A-  I didn’t use an alphabet set! I used the “Happy Birthday” verse from the From My Heart stamp set ( w-132007,  c- 126557 ). I used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to stamp each letter individually then I punched each letter out using our 1/2″ circle punch. I encourage you to look at the stamp sets you own to see which ones you could use in this way.

Banner Close - UpQ- What colors did you stamps the banners in?

A- I used the Calypso Coral, Pistachio Pudding, and Summer Starfruit inks which coordinate with the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper.

Q- What is Sale-A-Bration?

A– Sale-A-Bration is going on now until March 31,2014. It is the when you can earn FREE merchandise from the Sale-A-Bration catalog for FREE with every $50. in merchandise you purchase.

I’d like to thank you for your questions. If you need a Sale-A-Bration Catalog and don’t have a demonstrator you are currently working with please contact me and I will mail one off to you right away.

Monstermaniacs Love

Our Monster Maniac stamp set  is perfect for a Valentine page or two! I am in love with this set and have been using it for so many projects lately. It was the first one I went to in creating these scrapbook pages for my grand baby, Samantha. This  will be her first Valentine’s Day.

Monstermaniacs page 1

The pages are only 8×8 because my daughter-in-law says she doesn’t do “picture books”. In fact, this book is going to be a book given to Samantha on her first birthday. It is filled with pages of “firsts”. I  am trying to sneak pictures so her mom doesn’t know I am doing the book. I will add more elements ( punched hearts in Real Red, WHisper WHite & Coastal Cabana) and journal blocks after I put the pictures on the page.

I used Real Red, Coastal Cabana & Basic Black cardstock and paper from the Fresh Prints  Designer Paper Pack (#132996).

Monstermaniacs 2

Here is a close up of the little monster.

I used my Blender Pen to watercolor her ( or is it him?)

Monstermaniacs page 2

This is the second page. I will have my son & daughter-in-law, each, write a special message to Samantha and tuck them in a mini envelope so she can read them when she is old enough. I know she will treasure these notes forever.  I will make the envelopes with my Envelope  Punch Board ( #133774)  once I get their “love” notes so they are just the right size.

Monstermaniacs3

When coloring this monster, I went over his hands and horn tips a few times so they would be a little darker. By layering the color I had more control of the final outcome.

Monstermaniacs4

I used my Stampin’ Write Marker fine tip to color in the stripes on the legs and neck. It is hard to tell in this picture but the neck is done in Real Red and Coastal Cabana and the legs are Real Red & white.

I have intended for these pages to be for Valentine’s Day but they could really be for any special event. I could see using it for one of those “cuddle” times or “What I love about you,” layout.

Do you find this stamp set irresistible? To order the Monstermaniacs 5-piece stamp set( #134972) for $14.95 go to my ONLINE STORE before it is no longer available. This stamp set is only available in clear-mount only.

Hey There Scrapbook Page

I can’t wait to put pictures on this “Hey There” scrapbook page. I can just imagine capturing Samantha doing some cute pose or doing something she isn’t supposed to and putting it on here. I love how the images from one of My Paper Pumpkin Kits ( the saying and the splotches)  coordinated with the images I used in the  “Oh Hello” stamp set.

You're Amazing scrapbook page

I plan to add journaling to the strip of Whisper White that runs along side the mat. I used Baked Brown Sugar and Marina Mist from my Series #4 color combination. The chevron pattern is trending right now and I decided to accent the pattern on the mat simply by stamping onto Whisper White, cutting it out and placing it in the bottom image.

A second page for my new grandbaby’s scrapbook. I know she will be bound to play with frogs when she goes away on a weekend away with us. Our own children just loved going to the “frog pond” when they were little so this will definately be on our “to do” list when she is old enough.

I used the flower and frog images from the Moving Forward set to create this fun page. The colors are Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade. DSC00370

The chevron is a strip of patterned paper is from our Summer Smooches Designer Series paper. I also used 2 more different designed paper from this paper pack on the tab element.  That’s a kinda big tab wouldn’t you say?

Wonder why. . . .

I created the flower border by stamping the images side by side. This is really easy- I didn’t even have to use the stamp-a-ma-jig!flower border

And  just how cute are those frogs bouncing their way across the bottom of the page? I see that big smile they put on your face! frog border

Now for that tab . . . . . . . . .

secret journaling tab

It is for either hidden journaling or more pictures!

I often tuck elements like this on my scrapbook pages, I use them for special journaling or pictures that I want to share with my special someone. If you have attended my events you have learned a few different ways to do this.

I started doing this when my children would say to me,” Mom, can you put a piece of paper over that,I don’t want everyone to see that.”  They liked the pictures or what I wrote but just didn’t want to share it with everyone looking at their book.  Most people looking at the pages won’t know I have tucked something in the page. Sneeky, huh?

Don’t forget the Moving Forward stamp set will be retiring and not be available after June 2,2013. To see all the images in this set just go here.

Is your memory book ready for Easter?

Easter is coming soon, are you ready? My Scrappin’ Friends club members from across the US are! Well, as far as their memory pages are concerned.  One of the 2, 2-page layouts they made this month is an Easter layout. All they have to do is take the pictures , have them developed, and drop them on the pages! (Better known as crop & drop )

They learn new stamping and scrapbooking trends and techniques each month as they create their layouts. For this layout they water-colored, learning to create depth creating depth &  made a rippling paper ribbon.

Stampin Up Easter

Doesn’t this layout put a huge smile on your face?

Just imagine of how it is going to look once pictures are dropped onto them?

Can too much rubber stamping?

make you sick?  I don't think so but I think having the air conditioning and the fan blowing on you all night can!During convention,  I found myself in the direct flow of our fan for our hotel room when I layed in bed at night. We laughed at the fort I made out the pillows so I wouldn't get a cold from it blowing on me all night. It didn't work! I started feeling not quite right on Monday and woke up with a sinus infection yesterday. I fought through it all day, not taking anything but by last night I was miserable. I did run to the store this morning and got some daytime sinus stuff and it has helped a little. I have scrapbook club tonight and will be sure to stay away from the gals. We had to put it off two weeks so I didn't want to change the date because we are getting close to the August meeting.

If you would like to join us, in the future, to catch up your memory books please do! We meet the first Wednesday eveningof each month. The cost for 2, 2-page layouts is $25.00 and you will receive a $5.00 discount on your order of $30.00 or more if you wish to place one. All you need to bring is your SNAIL adhesive and you will be readdy to create! The themes change each month and you may request a theme forr future months'.

No pictures for today but I will share one of the layouts we do tonight in the near future.

Just info for you today

Yikes! I went to post the pictures of the goodies I gave out at my open house this past Friday and realized I didn't take pictures of them. So I won't be sharing them with you as I had promised last week. We all had a great time and I have received several phone calls and emails that everyone had fun and enjoyed their gifts and the make & take~ whew~ I always worry about that.
I am starting my swaps for convention and will share those with you in a few weeks. I am working on the pices but have to wait until I can order the new Designer Series Paper and stamp sets.
Have you pre-ordered your NEW Catalog/Idea Book from me yet? Don't wait as I have gone through 6 boxes so far and have placed another which will arrive right after the 4th of July. I have also heard from several of you that you are liking the scrapbook pages I have shared and asking if I would share more in the future. I will.
No pics today but I will have a few projects for you this week so be sure to come back!
