This DIY Patriotic Card Celebrates Freedom- it’s From a Friend

This DIY Patriotic Card Celebrates Freedom—Tammy Style

This DIY Patriotic Card has grunge, grit, and rebellious vibes… and now it has competition.

Tammy kicked off her Independence Day by checking her mailbox (while wearing fuzzy slippers and a flag-print bandana), and boom—inside was the brightest, boldest red, white, and blue card she’d ever seen.

It was from a friend who clearly believes in straight cuts, clean lines, and unapologetic glitter. And guess what? Tammy loved it.

Two Cards, One Message: Let’s Celebrate

The card Tammy received features angled strips of patriotic paper—stars, stripes, and even bunting—all perfectly layered in a firework-inspired burst. A big bold strip of blue glitter paper slices through the center like a sparkle rocket. And that “LET’S CELEBRATE!” sentiment? Straight-up parade energy.

Meanwhile, Tammy’s own Fourth of July card (you know, the one she made with an acrylic block and a spritzer like she was storming the creative barricades) is more… vintage rebellion. Her background bleeds. Her Crumb Cake edges scream antique chic. And her “USA” die cuts? Crooked. Intentionally. Probably.

You can see Tammy’s card here.

Same flag. Two totally different moods. And honestly? That’s what Tammy loves about this hobby.

This DIY Patriotic Card Is Only the Beginning

Tammy’s plans for today are simple:

  • Coffee first (patriotism needs caffeine).
  • A lap around the neighborhood craft fair.
  • Sneaky fireworks shopping with her niece.
  • Potato salad taste-testing (rigorous, patriotic work).
  • Mailing off that rebel-inspired card to her brother.

And tonight? She’ll be watching fireworks with a cold drink in one hand and a card sketchpad in the other. Inspiration doesn’t take holidays off.

Which One’s More You?

Are you a clean-and-bold crafter like Tammy’s friend—or a paint-splattered rebel with a spritzer in your apron pocket? Either way, this DIY patriotic card project is the perfect excuse to get a little inky today.
