Having to design a few ideas for a customers' holiday cards I automatically went to my Winter Post stamp set. Going with this years trend, she wanted a natural feel to her cards and told me her children were wearing khaki and black in the picture.
Oh boy was I in luck with this one!!
Crumb Cake (my favorite) and black was my first thought for the colors. Now I can see this same card using any of our reds, greens or blues with Whisper White as that would remind me of the sweaters my grandmother used to knit and a more traditional feel to the card. I chose to use the snowflake and deer image from Winter Post for this sample. It is hard to see in the scan but I also added a bit of shimmer to the card by dabbing a little Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to the snowflakes using a Stampin' Sponge. I added the Decorative Label punch in Basic Black, cut in 1/2 behind the Crumb Cake Extra Large Oval that has the deer image on it. Don't you think this makes this image pop? For the verse I went to Four the Holidays Stamp Set because she could choose from 4 different verses if she wanted to change it on some of her cards.
