Serene Silhouetts

Are you looking for a stamp set with images that lend themselves to many different looks and techniques? Serene Silhouettes is a great choice & is my current favorite set.

This is a card I created for one of my swaps for Leadership.

Serene Silhouetts thumping techniqueHere are the supplies I used:

Stamps: Serene Silhouettes # 127322 (w) #127324 (c)

Perfect Punches # 117022(w) #120516 (c)

Inks: Pretty in Pink, Perfect Plum, Garden Green Stampin’ Write Markers. Perfect Plum Classic Ink Pad.

Paper: Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White

Misc.: Punches- Itty Bitty Punch Pack #118309, modern label #119849, Pretty in Pink stitched grosgrain ribbon #126880, Big Shot  Die Cutting Machine #113439, Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue # 110755

I used the “thumping” technique on the flowers to give them a 2-tone look. To create the “ticket” corners  on the Pretty in Pink mat I punched them out using the circle punch that comes in the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, only inserting the corner about 1/3 in. I just love this trick and use it quite frequently on my paper crafts, cards and scrapbook pages. You can vary the size of your corners by using different size circle punches.

Until we meet again,

Open House, Everything Elenore

My new Catalog Open House was such a fun evening of stamping and laughing with guests. Each guest received a gift of a Stampin' Up! foldable trash can ( everyone was delighted ). Inside the trash can I had tucked in 1/4 sheets of the new In-Colors and their supplies for the make&takes that evening.  Attached to the trash can was a cute tag hand stamped by me.

  100_8671

Everyone was anxious to see the new catalog but I held off giving them out until they completed their make & takes. Everyone got to know one another as they stamped their cards. That is what I love about being a demonstrator~ making new friendships with my guests and experriencing them making new friendships through these types of events. I am always amazed at how many people actually have another perrson in common with someone they just met….it is a small world!!

The first make & take for the Open House was using the Everything Elenor stamp set and Summer Starfruit, a new In-Color. I also shared some cards using the remaining In-Colors and the same design as the one they made. I also explained to them that if they use a paper-saver technique I taught them they would be able to create a set of 16 cards of each In- Color with 1 multi-pack of In-Color 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and 8 sheets of either Whisper White or Very Vanilla  8 1/2 x 11 cardstock. That is a total of 80 cards from 1 assortment pack!! I was happy that some of the guests had never seen this technique before! This is a great mono-chromatic card to give as gifts with a card holder. I would stamp a couple different verses on the tag, attach a few Stampin' DImensionals, to the place the recipient is to place the verse, to give them a few options when giving the cards.

This was the Make & Take

This is a sample of some assorted cards you can make using the Everything Elenor stamp set and 1 package of the 2012-2014 In-Colors. 100_8680

Did you know?

That when you purchase all 5 in-Color Classic Pads you get a  package of 8 1/2 x 11 In-Color cardstock for 20 cents ? How is that for helping make a few hand-made gifts a little bit more economical? You will find this  great deal on page 82 of the New Catalog. Just look for "Card stock & Pad Kit" in the top row of the pictured items in the lower 1/2 of the page.

Vintage Vogue with Attic Boutique

I am really, really going to miss the Vintage Vogue stamp set! I have created so many different projects and my hostess club members always love seeing the new ideas I came up with. All of them own this set, if they didn’t buy it the first time I shared ideas they were sure to have by the third time! The card I am sharing today uses the Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper # 125407 found in the Occassions Mini Catalog. Yes, I know this mini catalog ended April 30th but several of the items in it were carried over another month!! I highly recommend this assortment of Designer Series Paper, I know you will find several projects that will look great with it. You might also consider the Rue Des Fleurs stamp set # 125485(w) # 125487(c)which coordinates with this paper.  I took my color cues from the designer series paper for this card.

Inks

Paper

Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Attic Boutique Designer Series paper # 125407

The Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper is the smaller strip along the bottom of this card and the dark, patterned mat behind the verse. The upper is the images from the Vintage Vogue stamp set stamped randomly. To create the soft look of the designer series paper I stamped off before stamping the images.

This card reminds me of visiting my grandmothers’ farm house when I was growing up. She had simple, vintage items in her house and I think that is why I am often drawn to stamp sets such as Vintage Vogue.

Pocket Sillhoettes, Stampin’ Up! retiring stamp set

This card usingPocket Silhoettes was a swap I received from Sandra Weiss. I just love the layout and colors  she used. Sandra combined the Pocket Silhoettes set with the Four Frames set # 113790 ( one of our top sellers!) to give it a greater impact on her card. The verse is from the Just Believe set # 116948 (w )#120453 (c)  which, if you have this set, could easily be adapted to this layout. Sandra used a few embossing folders ( the Finial Press #115963) is also retiring , a folder I use frequently. I know I will continue to use it too!! This card is so bright and cheery and I am glad I received her swap.

Winter Post, Stampin’ Up! retiring stamp set

Winter Post is a stamp set that I used for some of my holiday cards these last few years.  The card I am sharing with you today is one of the 6 different cards I created for friends and workshop  guest & online order thank you’s two years ago. For the online orders I did a 3×3 version of this design.  I did receive several people contacting me saying that they loved this card. It isn’t the traditional card you would think of designing with the Winter Post set, I wanted to do a more contemporary card as a challenge. The Designer Series paperr was one offered for the 2010 holiday season and I took my color cues from it.

Stampin’ Up! retiring stamp set Sweetheart

The retiring Sweetheart stamp set  # 120415 (w) #120780 (c) , found on page 60 of the 2011-2012 Catalog/Idea Book, is one that I will surely miss using at workshops! My workshop guests just love creating an assortment of cards with this adorable, vesatile , yet simple set. We loved pairing it up with our Heart Treat Cups #  found on page 182. and seeing what little treats we could fill them with. We love creating an assortment of heart flowers by stamping assorted background and other stamps onto Whisper White card stock and then punching the stamped image out using our Full Heart Punch # found on page 210. In this sample we used the background stamp found in the  Clearly For You # 121911(w) #121976(c) stamp set found on page 136 of the catalog..

When usinng the Sweetheart set for our memory pages we would combine several of the heart images to create a large flower, a shamrock for St. Patrick's Day or just using the cute little bird for a fun park page. We've  used the stem around a page layout to make a cute border that created a frame around the page. .By using Basic Black Ink it created a fun whimsical border for the Disney theme.

Crazy for Cupcakes Stampin’ Up! stamp set

Yes, this card is created using the Crazy for Cupcakes Stampin' Up! stamp set! Today I am sharing another birthday cardwith balloons which is so quick to make you will want to do several of them at one time. I used the balloon image from the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set, stamped 3 times onto a 4"x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock, using our Jet Black StazOn ink. I then attached the string image to each. I colored in the balloons using an Aqua Painter and our Watercolor Crayons in Daffodile Delight and Marina Mist. I punched a piece of Marina Mist cardstock using our Modern Label Punch # 119849, stamped Wish Big from our Short & Sweet stamp set # 115060 onto Whisper White cardstock and punched it with our  Word Window Punch # 119857. I added dimension by attaching the punched pieces with Stampin' Dimensionals. I then attached this to Daffodile Delight card base.

This would make a great interactive card for a small child too! How? Cut & stamp as follows;

Whisper White cardstock = 4"x 5 1/4"      01

Daffodile Delight cardstock = 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Stamp balloon & string images onto Whisper White using Jet Black StazOn ink

Stamp Wish Big & punch out using Word Window Punch

Punch Marina Mist cardstock using Modern Label punch

attach punched pieces to card

sign back of card

put the card with a blue and yellow crayon into a clear envelope (# 102619) for the recipient to color.

These also make great party favors! Just change up the colors to the color crayons you put with each card & change up the verse or leave the verse off.

As you can see there re more than cupcakes in our Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set!

Up, Up & Away

Up, Up & Away is a fun stamp set found on page 63 in our Occasions section of the 2011-2012 Catalog/Idea Book. It contains the following verses ; happy birthday to you!, miss you!, the sky’s the limit, and up in the air over you!, which make this set so versatile. I received this swap from my upline, Karen Titus, and thought I would share it with you today.

Karen used Tangerine Tango and Daffodile Delight cardstock and classic inks. For the focus point she used 3 of the 6 different baloon images from the Up, Up & Away stamp set. This is a 2-step stamp set which means you combine different images to create one. For the center baloon she chose to follow the shape of the dotted balloon image and color it it with her Daffodile Delight Stampin Write marker rather then using the shaded balloon image. By doing this, Karen created a thinner balloon!  She added the coordinating Tangerine Tango 1/2″ scallop dots ribbon for added texture and interest. Adding the flag strings to the balloons gives the effect that they are floating away.

Karen could have created  hot air balloons by not adding the flag strings and adding the basket image also included in the set. Other images you will find in this set are; birds, clouds and a cute flower, totaling 14 different stamp images!

I love this bright, cheery card, don’t you?

Festive & Fun Valentine

I know the Festive & Fun stamp set is not available at this time but I have had several requests to share my Valentine card I created using this set. This set was available in our 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog.

The first thing you will probably notice when you look at this card is that I did not stamp the image as shown in the mini catalog or as it is intended. I didn't want it as a long image for my card but rather more square so I inked up" "v thru "n", cleaned my stamp then stamped the "t" thru "e" under the first stamped image. I did use StazOn Jet Black ink so that is why I had to clean my stamp thoroughly between stamping. I watercolored the images so that is why I used the StazOn instead of our Basic Black Stampin Write marker. The Basic Black marker is not permanent so the ink will run when you watercolor. I used Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Certainly Celery, and Pink Pirouette and my Aqua Painter to watercolor the images. I used our small heart punch to stamp the heart out of our Red Glitter paper for the tip of the arrow.  I used Pink Pirouette cardstock and punched along one edge using our Scallop Edge Punch and added some stitching detail using a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker ( this tied in the stitching found in the "n" of the image. The Designer Series paper I used came from our Subtles Designer Series Paper Pack # 117152. I added a Whisper White Satin Ribbon, a mat of Certainly Celerry cardstock and a little Dazzling Details to the dots in the heart and walla!! my valentine is all ready to give to my sweetie tomorrow!!

LastScanI hope you use your Festive & Fun satmp set as much as I do!

Tea Shoppe again

I hope you enjoyed yesterday's sample using the Tea Shoppe stamp set! As promised, I am going to share the bolder side of this set and the Twitterpated DSP.

Tea for Two 2I used Riding HoodRed  as the card base, Pear Pizzaz,Riding Hood Red and Basic Gray for the mats. Once again, I used 2 different sides of the Twitterpated DSP. I added interest and texture to down the center of the Baja Breeze side of the DSP using the 3/8" Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon found on page 12 of the Occasions Mini Catalog 2012. I just love, love, love this new ribbon and am so hApPy it comes in Pear Pizzaz, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride, and Baja Breeze. This is one example of making stamping easier by cutting the tea cups apart. By doing this I was able to stamp each on it's own color, making it much quicker to create this card 50 times for my swaps at Leadership! Did you notice I did use the marker to stamp technique on the verse? I stamped the verse onto my Basic Gray Ink Pad, erased the ink off the tiny tea cup using my blender pen, then using my Pear Pizzaz Stampin' Write Marker, I colored the heart. This may sound like a long process but do you really think I would have taken these few extra setps if it took me THAT long? Heck no, not me!!  Tea for Two 2

If you click on the above, image you will also see that I stamped the violets from the Tea Shoppe stamp set in the lower left hand corner using Riding Hood Red so it adds interest without drawing your eye away from the focal point. I felt the card needed a little something in the upper left hand corner so I used 3 mini Basic Pearls. As an after-thought I could have added 3 of the Poisy shaped flowers from our Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and then added the pearls to each of the posies.

Once again these pictures were taken with my phone so aren't the best, sorry!

I hope these samples have inspired your imagination. I know you will be happy when you add  the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set to your stamp collection!

You can purchase it today , 24/7, by going to my online store!

Tea Shoppe

You can find our Tea Shoppe stamp set on page 19 of our newly released Occassions Mini Catalog 2012. Tea Shoppe contains 10 stamps, some coordinate with a few of our punches found on page 209-210 of our Idea Book & Catalog. I purchased the set to be mounted on clear blocks but as with most of our sets you can choose to opurchase them mounted on wood. I did cut apart the set of 3 tea cups so they can be stamped as one or as individuals or in any combination of 2. I sometimes do this to make stamping multiple cards more time efficient. For this particular card I decided not to use any of the tea cups, I used the violets and one of the several cerses you get in this set. I wanted  to give this card a soft look so chose the softer colors in the Twitterpated DSP (#125406)pallette.

Tea for TwoI used Bja Breeze as the card base, one design of the Twitterpated DSP at the top and another at the bottom. In the center, I used Pear Pizzaz card stock and embossed hearts using our NEW Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#125601) page 11 of the Occasions Mini Catalog.

I stamped the verse onto Whisper White card stock and then the violets to the left. I stamped the "stay" onto Pink Pirouette cs and the "friends" onto Baja Breeze, cut them out, then attached these pieces over the words on the Whisper White. I watercolored the violets using Pink Pirouette , Ridinghood Red, and Pear Pizzaz inks and my aqua painter. I attached this piece to a piece of Pear Pizzaz that I had punched one end with our Pinking Hearts Border Punch (# 117649). Added a strip of Baja Breeze card stock, then a piece of our 1/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon and one of the Twitterpated Designer Buttons (#125579) page 12 of the Occassions Mini Catalog.

I'm sorry the picture may be a little blurry but I took it with my phone because I forgot to scan it before I gave it away. Come back tomorrow for a bolder look using the Tea Shoppe stamp set.

Gnome Sweet Gnome

Are you a Gnome fan? If your answer is yes, our adorable Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set is for you! This stamp set is found on page  41, in our Occasions Mini Catalog  2012&  has 3 of the cutest gnomes, a male, a female and a baby gnome! Who can have gnomes without accessorizing  them? There is a lantern, sprinkling can,Birthday cake, grass with a mushroom,a wheelbarrow, a little hill with a flower, and even a bumch of flowers that can go into the wheelbarrow!

For today's project I combined a few other  products from the Occasions Mini Catalog 2012, our Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, found on page 13. I added a little of the unexpected technique to this DSP by adding dots of our Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, also found on page 9 of the Occasions Mini Catalog 2012.

Gnomw sweet gnome

I just love all the sparkle of this card! The flower is created with our Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch found on page 211 of our Idea Book & Catalog. The Bling Heart in the middle of the flower Is our Red Glimmerr paper punched out using our Small Heart Punch. I also used the following punches; Bird Builder, Word WIndow, Modern Label, & 2 1/2" circle. Behind the Gnome, you will find the scallop circle found on our Perfect Pennants Big Z Big Shot Die.

It may seem that it took a long time to create this card when in reality it went quick because of all the punches I used. I made this card as one of my swaps at Leadership Training and was able to make 18 cardfronts in less than a 1/2 hour!

I am sur eyou know of someone special that could use a little Gnome Sweet Gnome in their life!

Winter Post

Having to design a few ideas for a customers' holiday cards I automatically went to my Winter Post stamp set. Going with this years trend, she wanted a natural feel to her cards and told me her children were wearing khaki and black in the picture.

Oh boy was I in luck with this one!!

Crumb Cake (my favorite) and black was my first thought for the colors. Now I can see this same card using any of our reds, greens or blues with Whisper White as that would remind me of the sweaters my grandmother used to knit and a more traditional feel to the card. I chose to use the snowflake and deer image from Winter Post for this sample. It is hard to see in the scan but I also added a bit of shimmer to the card by dabbing a little Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to the snowflakes using a Stampin' Sponge. I added the Decorative Label punch in Basic Black, cut in 1/2 behind the Crumb Cake Extra Large Oval that has the deer image on it. Don't you think this makes this image pop?  For the verse I went to Four the Holidays Stamp Set because she could choose from 4 different verses if she wanted to change it on some of her cards.
