Make a Notes and Totes Birthday Card She’ll Love
Notes and Totes birthday card projects are the perfect blend of fun, fashion, and function—especially when you’re crafting for someone who’s equal parts sparkle and sass. Today, I created a birthday card for my granddaughter. I’m using her favorite color (teal, of course!) and the stylish Notes & Totes Bundle.

This playful card features a Coastal Cabana tote with Basic Black handles. It’s accessorized with bold Real Red heart-shaped sunglasses, a Very Vanilla water bottle. Stamping the water bottle with suns in Summer Splash give that fun vibe. Adding a subtle background effect, I stamped flowers in the corner of the tote using VersaMark ink. This gives it just enough detail to keep things interesting without stealing the show.

Here is the card details.
- The base is Very Vanilla cardstock (8″ x 5-1/4″, scored at 4″)
- Coastal Cabana layer (5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″) that makes the whole design pop. This is a little paper-saving trick I use.
- Scraps of Coastal Cabana, Basic Black, and Very Vanilla for the die cuts,
- then I brought it all to life with Memento Tuxedo Black and Summer Splash ink. A coordinating Stampin’ Write Marker gave the water bottle lid a little extra pop.
Notes and Totes Birthday Card with a Teal Twist
This card isn’t just a birthday greeting—it’s a mini fashion statement with a purpose. While my granddaughter isn’t exactly a girly-girl, she does love the beach and absolutely adores her horse. She rides and competes in English horse shows, and I could totally see her using a real version of this tote to carry her riding gloves or grooming gear.
But the best part? This tote has a little secret—it doubles as a pocket to tuck in a cash gift, just like she requested. Practical and pretty? That’s a win-win in my book.
