How to Make a Cheerful Note Card the Tammy way!

June 13, 2025 by Judi Anderson Leave a Comment

Make a cheerful card with sunshine, ribbon sass, and a little bit of layering magic—because that’s how I roll.

So, Judi used the Notes & Totes stamp set in her live this week, and obviously I had to try it too. Not because I like to copy—nope—it’s called “inspiration,” thank you very much. And what better way to spread that joy than with bright colors and a bold “just a note” greeting?

NotesandTotes, #TammytheStampingRebel, #judistamps

I started with Daffodil Delight cardstock because nothing says “happy” like a card that looks like it could glow in the dark. I stamped suns all around the edge in the same Daffodil Delight ink for a tone-on-tone background—fancy, but make it fast.

Then I grabbed a piece of Summer Splash cardstock and went to town stamping those tiny flowers in—you guessed it—Summer Splash ink. Honestly, tone-on-tone stamping is my new bestie. It looks impressive and hides the fact that I dropped my block once. Twice. Don’t judge.

In the middle, I added a piece of Basic White and stamped the “just a note” sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black. Then I threw in a little sun stamp in the top left corner and added a sparkly sequin center because even the sun deserves a little bling.

Make a Cheerful Card with Ribbon Flair

Now here’s the part I’m really proud of~ the ribbon trick.

I tied a piece of Summer Splash ribbon straight across the front of the card, but Judi taught me a way to knot it so it lays flat and cute—no bulky lumps, no sad droops. Just clean, classy, and totally Tammy. I told Judi she HAS to teach it on her next live because people are gonna want to know!

After that, I layered everything up: white on black, black on Summer Splash, then the whole thing onto my sunny card base. Boom. Layers like a lasagna, but cuter.

Inside? I grabbed a scrap piece of white from my bin (yay, me for using scraps!) and stamped “sending warm wishes” plus another little sun. Just enough to say, “I care,” without saying, “I spent four hours on this.”

If you’re new to stamping, this card is a great one to try. It’s bright, it’s easy, and it’ll make someone’s day. Which, let’s be real, is the whole point. So, what do you think of my card? Let me know in the comments and I might just send you some happy mail!

Off to make another one—this time with coffee in hand and probably glitter on my elbow. As it should be.
