A Classic Greeting Card is a must when it comes to creating timeless and elegant greeting cards . The combination of black and gold never fails to impress. In this blog post, I’ll guide you through the process of designing a classic greeting card. I’m using the stunning Artistically Inked stamp set. With its intricate patterns and versatile elements, this set allows you to add a touch of sophistication to your handmade cards. Get ready to unleash your creativity and craft a card that will leave a lasting impression.

Designing with the Artistically Inked Stamp Set: The Artistically Inked stamp set is a treasure trove of artistic possibilities. This set features floral patterns, watercolor washes, and several basic sentiments. It provides all the elements you need to create a stunning greeting card. To achieve the classic black and gold look, I’ll combine Basic Black and Wild Wheat. Using the Wink of Stella clear glitter brush creates golden accents bringing a touch of elegance to the design.

A Classic Greeting Card using Artistically Inked staamp set

A Classic Greeting Card can be created by following these steps.

.1: Background and Focal Point I started by using Wild Wheat cardstock for the card base. Then I used a Basic Black mat to create a striking backdrop for the rest of the design. For the focal point, I chose stamping on a separate piece of Basic White cardstock to provide contrast.

2: Stamping with Precision-  Use Memento Tuxedo Black and Wild Wheat inks, stamp the floral and leaf images onto the Basic White cardstock. I paid attention to ensure crisp and clean impressions. One of the flowers was stamped directly after inking the stamp. The other was stamped immediatly after the first (this is called second generation). Using the coordinating Artistic Dies I cut out these images.   Cutting the stem of leaves from Basic Black for a bold statement.. You can experiment with different arrangements to create your desired composition.

3: Add a touch of opulence to your card by incorporating metallic gold accents. I used the clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush over the lacey leaves. This adds eye-catching highlights and dimension to the card. The black and white gingham ribbon might not seem to be a choice for a classic card. Adding some of the Wink of Stella to it gives it a golden feel. Perfect!

Step 4: Sentiments and Finishing Touches – I chose “Thank you” for my heartfelt sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set that complements the elegance of the card. Stamping directly onto the Wild Wheat cardstock using the black ink.

A Classic Greeting Card creates a stunning greeting card.

With the Artistically Inked stamp set and this classic color combination of black and gold, you can create a stunning greeting card that exudes sophistication and elegance. Whether it’s for a special occasion or simply to brighten someone’s day, this classic design is sure to leave a lasting impression. Explore your creativity, experiment with different arrangements and metallic accents. Enjoy the process of crafting a handmade card that truly reflects your style and artistry.

Remember, the combination of black and gold never goes out of style, and with the Artistically Inked stamp set, your possibilities are endless. So gather your supplies, embrace the classic color palette and let your creativity flow as you embark on your creative cardmaking journey.
