A Spooky,Haunting Sky on this Halloween Card

Using the stamping on an embossing folder technique, I created a haunting, spooky sky on this fun Halloween card. I used my brayer to add color to my Woodland Texture embossing folder (#139673). Wanting it to be a scary, Halloween sky I also used my sponge to dispurse and soften the color in parts. After embossing the Whisper White cardstock, I added the owl and scary eyes from the Among the Branches stamp set (#139823). But, oh no, I just couldn’t stop there! I wanted the details of the tree bark so I colored the embossing folder, again, using my Basic Black marker, ran it through my Big Shot die cutting machine and I was getting closer to the look I wanted. Embossing the Basic Black cardstock with the Woodland embossing folder drew the tree detail onto the mat. Some thing was missing. What could I add to bring out that glimmering touch to my spooky sky?

GOT IT! I used the Splattered Glitter Technique and our Gold Glitter. That was it!!

Success!!

This is the final result, the picture I had in my mind from the day I first saw this set in the Holiday Catalog!

Among the Branches stamp set

How would you like to see how I created that haunting, spooky sky and see how it sparkles? (this picture just doesn’t bring out the gorgeous beauty of this sky) Come back tomorrow when I will share a video of me creating it. Well, actually not this same exact one but another one just like it. You will feel just like an artist because no matter how hard you try, no two backgrounds will be the same.
