This fun technique creates a different look every time.

This fun technique creates a different look every time. It’s a fun technique using solid image stamps. I’ve been doing this technique for over 20 years and still love the effects I get when using it. I am not sure if there is a name for this technique, but I am calling it the Melding Technique.

Twenty years ago I was playing around with my stamps and ink when I made an opportunity which turned into something fun. I was creating my swaps for my first Stampin’ Up! Convention when I mistakingly spritzted my stamp before stamping the image. Not wanting to waste an image, I stamped it onto my Very Vanilla cardstock. I loved it!

This fun technique creates a different look with great results.

The result is what seems to be a melding together of my colors. Your never get the same result twice, resulting in each image being unique. Just think, you can create unique, custom cards for friends and family quickly and easily when doing this technique.

Are you ready to learn how to do this?

  • Start with a solid image stamp.
  • Ink your stamp with the lighter color
  • Ink up areas with second ink color using either an ink pad or Stampin’ Write marker
  • Spritz the image with water using a light-mist sprayer.
  • Stamp your image

Watch the following video from my Facebook Live last week .

How easy is this technique? A few tips I have for you are:

  • choose colors that won’t be “muddy” when mixed together.
  • using an ink pad to ink the lighter color first works better
  • you can wipe off ink if you wish with either your Stampin’ Shammy or baby wipe
  • don’t spray with too much water
  • practice a few times if you aren’t sure colors will look well together

Use the Dino Days (149406) stamp set and Dino Dies (149636) to create the cards. Don’t forget this set is great when creating cards for birthdays, Halloween, Valentine’s Day and to send an every day hello. **This set and dies are on sale right now and can be found here on our Last Chance Products.

Change the color combinations and you can create a card for boys or girls. For the card I created in the live and below, I use Cajun Craze Designer Series Paper and the Dino Days Enamel Shapes.

I changed the color of the Designer Series Paper and cardstock to Melon Mambo and added a flower and Rhinestone Jewels in creating this card for my granddaughter Samantha.

I am sure Samantha and Hunter are going to love their cards I created just for them.

Until next time. . . .
