Thanksgiving greetings with twists

October 25, 2011 by Judi Anderson Leave a Comment

25 Oct

While preparing for my November workshops I decided to create a WOW Thanksgiving card with a twists. (I call unexpected techniques, colors and such twists.)I just love the elegant look of cream pumpkins in decorating today, in fact I look for a new one to add to my collection every year. So why not use this idea in a hand made card?

I  first went to my collection of Designer Series Paper (DSP), for the first twist. Twist #1 – non traditional Thanksgiving themed paper. Paisley Prints DSP was the choice! I chose the floral pattern that has leaves and what looks like acorns. I also am using the reverse side. Twist #2– a non traditional fold. Twist # 3 is my Vanilla Pumpkins sponged with Soft Suede and Always Artichoke inks.

Cardstock:

Soft Suede Thanksgiving with a twist

Always Artichoke

Sahara Sand (it looks like gray in the scan)

Very Vanilla

Paisley Prints DSP

Teeny Tiny Phrases stamp set

Rhinestones

Punches:

Modern Label

Word Window

Scallop Trim Corner  Thanksgiving with a twist 2

Sweet Buttons Embosslit Die

Big Shot

I did make an insert using Whisper White carstock

for the inside of the card but forgot to adhere it

before scanning the card- sorry!

The scans oif this card do not do it justice, The sponging is so soft looking in real life & it has kind of a chabby/chic feel to it.

I hope this card sparked some ideas "with a twist"

for your Thanksgiving cards!

Leave a comment and let me know what you think of these "twists".
