Open House, Everything Elenore

My new Catalog Open House was such a fun evening of stamping and laughing with guests. Each guest received a gift of a Stampin' Up! foldable trash can ( everyone was delighted ). Inside the trash can I had tucked in 1/4 sheets of the new In-Colors and their supplies for the make&takes that evening.  Attached to the trash can was a cute tag hand stamped by me.

Everyone was anxious to see the new catalog but I held off giving them out until they completed their make & takes. Everyone got to know one another as they stamped their cards. That is what I love about being a demonstrator~ making new friendships with my guests and experriencing them making new friendships through these types of events. I am always amazed at how many people actually have another perrson in common with someone they just met….it is a small world!!

The first make & take for the Open House was using the Everything Elenor stamp set and Summer Starfruit, a new In-Color. I also shared some cards using the remaining In-Colors and the same design as the one they made. I also explained to them that if they use a paper-saver technique I taught them they would be able to create a set of 16 cards of each In- Color with 1 multi-pack of In-Color 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and 8 sheets of either Whisper White or Very Vanilla  8 1/2 x 11 cardstock. That is a total of 80 cards from 1 assortment pack!! I was happy that some of the guests had never seen this technique before! This is a great mono-chromatic card to give as gifts with a card holder. I would stamp a couple different verses on the tag, attach a few Stampin' DImensionals, to the place the recipient is to place the verse, to give them a few options when giving the cards.

The last day of the 2011-2012 Catalog!

Can you believe we have completed another year with another GREAT catalog? I'm sad to see this catalog come to a close but I am happy to say….. there are great things around the corner in the new catalog.

During this past month I have been sharing several card ideas with you using many products that will no longer be available after today. Don't forget that our Home Decor and Simply Adorned lines will not be available after today. Do you love the Big Shot die cut machine? Be sure to check out the retiring accessories list because several of our Big Shot dies and product are retiring to make room for new Big Shot product.

My million dollar question for all of you is," Do you have everything you want from this years catalog? If not, check out my ONLINE STORE and get the retired products while you still can!

Autumn Splendor, retiring Stampin’ Up! set

Autumn is my favorite time of year and that is why I think I am always drawn to our sets like Autumn Splendor that contain leaves. I love the colors of autumn and the ability to experiment with color and techniques when using sets for this time of year. The fine line details found in the images of the stamps in the Autumn Splendor stamp set give the leaves an elegant / formal look. I helped one of my cutomer use this set for her daughters wedding invitations, the table seating cards and to accent the favors. She embossed the leaves in gold on our Shimmer White cardstock. She told me the guests were all amazed that she made them and most commented on how elegant and professional looking they were. She couldn't thank me enough for the idea and the help.

This is a card I made for a family friend that retired this past fall. As you can see, it is simple, yet has alot of texture and the wow factor.

Serene Snowflakes,Many Merry Messages retiring Stampin’ Up! stamp sets

The Serene Snowflakes stamp set has wonderful snowflake images aren't your average snowflakes. The Many Merry Messages stamp set has verses for the front of your card as well as lovely messages for the inside and is a set I found myself using over and over again for my holiday cards and on my scrapbook pages.

The snowflakes in the Serene Snowflake set are so delicate and elegant that they can be used as wonderful elements on your stamping projects.Experiment with the punches you own and watch all the wonderful images you can achieve with this set. You can also use your punch to punch out a piece of sticky note to use as a mask. What? , you ask. Try this: punch out your desired punch shape from the enter of a piece of sticky note. Stick this dowwn on the cardstock you wish to stamp your image. Ink up your stamp, and stamp inside the punched space. Remove the sticky note and , walla! You have a new look to your stamp image. I have done this technique using the three larger snowflakes in the Serene Snowflake stamp set.

Awash with Flowers

Awash with Flowers is a fun 2-step stamp that just makes me smile. I love using the stamps separately as well as together to create different, never ending looks. Awash with Flowers coordinates with so many other sets in our catalog (and my stamp collection) that I am sure you will find one or two in your existing stamp collection to use on your projects along with it. I have seen peole use several of the stamps in this set with our All in the Family (also retiring) stamp set to create cute dresses for the girl images. I have also seen some pretty darn cute fairies created with these two sets also. I, just love creating pretty floral background papers for my cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items along with making the images a focal point of my project. I have also used one of the floral images in the Awash with Flowers set  to create a butterfly.

On The Grow, Layered Marker Technique

I will be honest with you, I am not one that uses markers to color, I love water coloring! BUT, if you do the Layered Marker Technique correctly, you can get spectacular results. The key is to use different depths of a color (IE: light blue, medium blue, deep blue) to create depth. I always highlight the image with our Signo White Gel pen. For this card I used Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, Pacific Point for the flowers and Sahara Sand, Wild Wasabi and Garden Green for the leaves. The glass jar is water colored (had to sneek it in!) using the Baja Breeze. This card is just 1 of 3 that my Hostess Clubs will be creating in August.
