How to Make a Pop-Up Petals Friendship Card

Pop-Up Petals Friendship Card designs are the perfect blend of cheerful color and rustic charm. In today’s project, I combined the Pop-Up Petals Bundle with layers of soft pastels and woodgrain textures to create a card that feels both cozy and fresh. The layered square background adds depth without being fussy—just the right balance for a handmade card that brightens someone’s day. Whether you’re sending a note to a friend or simply enjoying a little creative “me time,” this project is sure to leave you smiling.

Pop-Up Petals Friendship Card Layered Design

This card features an easy-to-replicate background built from small one-inch paper squares. It’s a great way to use those leftover Designer Series Paper scraps you just can’t part with! I arranged mine in a patchwork pattern to create that rustic quilted feel, then topped it with soft layers of cardstock and a simple floral focal point.

Measurements:

  • Card Base: Pool Party – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
  • Layer 1: Petal Pink – 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Layer 2: Basic Beige – 3-3/4″ x 5″
  • Top Layer: Basic White – 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″
  • Accent Squares: DSP – 1″ x 1″ (arranged in rows)
  • Focal Panels: 2 pieces Pool Party – 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″; 1 piece Basic White – 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ to stamp the flower image.

Inks & Coloring:

  • Petal Pink Classic Ink – for the flowers
  • Crushed Curry Classic Ink – for the flower centers
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink – crisp outline for the floral image
  • Pool Party Stampin’ Blend (Dark) – for the leaves.

Pop-Up Petals Friendship Card Finishing Touches

Create the quilt-like focal point first. You can see how to do this by watching the video from my live that is posted below. Adhere your layers using Stampin’ Seal. Stamp your floral image from the Pop-Up Petals set in Memento Tuxedo Black and add gentle color with Petal Pink by stamping the flower images in the center of the outline image. Next, stamp the flower centers using the Crushed Curry ink. Usethe Pool Party Stampin’ Blend for the leaves. Use your Cut & Emboss Machine and coordinating die to cut the flower bouquet. The result is a soothing, joyful card that feels both polished and heartfelt—perfect for letting someone know they’re appreciated.

Don’t forget to stamp the inside or your envelope for that final coordinated touch. After all, it’s the little details that make handmade cards so special.
