HOW TO GIVE A TROPICAL FEEL Country Birdhouse

How to give a tropical feel might not be on your mind when using the Country Birdhouse stamp set. Usually, people imagine palm trees, sand, and the ocean breeze when thinking of the tropics. I love to think out of the box when using a stamp set. I will ignore the samples and coordinating products when I want to shake things up a little.

Creating a tropical-themed card using the Country Birdhouse stamp set can bring a touch of exotic charm to your greeting cards. Surprisingly, by combining vibrant colors and lush, leafy elements, you can transform a simple design into a vibrant tropical masterpiece. To begin with, let’s see what materials I used to achieve a tropical look with these materials.

HOW TO GIVE A TROPICAL FEEL Country Birdhouse

Materials Needed:

  • Country Birdhouse Bundle #163401
  • Leaf Collection stamp set (163610)
  • Lemon Lime Twist cardstock (144245)
  • Granny Apple Green Classic Ink (147095)
  • Gray Granite Classic Ink (147118)
  • Summer Splash Classic Ink (163809)
  • Pretty In Pink cardstock (for the card base) (163793)
  • Stampin’ Blends in Daffodil Delight (154883), Pretty In Pink (163824), and Summer Splash (163826)
  • Basic white cardstock (164511) strip for the sentiment, scrap for images
  • Pretty In Pink 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon (163784)

How to give a tropical feel BY FOLLOWING THESE STEPS.

  1. When you use Pretty In Pink as your card base you will add a soft backdrop and set a cheerful, tropical tone. Start by preparing your Card Base by cutting and folding your cardstock for a standard card base.
  2. Create the Leafy Background on the Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and the Granny Apple Ink. Because you use the background stamp, the Leaf Collection stamp, you create a quick background. This combination of lime with a darker shade of green gives a lush, vibrant background mimicking the dense foliage of a tropical rainforest.
  3. At this time you will wrap the ribbon around above layer, about 2/3 of the way down, and tie a knot towards the right edge. Adhere this to the card front.
  4. Cut a strip of basic white cardstock, the size you need, to use for your sentiment. In this case, you can choose which order to stamp the next two images. Across the top of this strip, add the accent using Summer Splash ink. This adds a pop of color enhancing the tropical feel of your card.
  5. Using the Gray Granite Classic Ink, stamp the sentiment “Happy Birthday” onto the white strip below the accents across the top. Adhere this strip using Stampin’ Dimensionals over the ribbon as shown.
  6. Stamp the bird in Gray Granite on the scrap of basic white cardstock. Use the Stampin’ Blends in the dark & light shades to color the bird. Once colored, cut out the bird using the co ordinating die.

  • 7. Stamp and color clusters of flowers using the Gray Granite ink. Color the flowers using the Stampin’ Blends. Using the coordinating dies, cut these images out.

  • 8. Then, adhere the bird and flower clusters around the sentiment strip as desired. Ensure the ribbon is visible and adds a finishing touch to your design.

When using vibrant colors and tropical-themed elements, you can give the Country Birdhouse stamp set a refreshing makeover. This card design not only highlights the beauty of the stamp sets but also brings a slice of tropical paradise to your crafting. Happy stamping and enjoy the tropical vibes!

Until we meet again. . .
