Toxic Treats stamp set

I am loving creating with the Toxic Treats stamp set from our Holiday Catalog. I saw a challenge layout online and thought I would give it a try with Toxic Treats. In the challenge their was supposed to be another layer where I put the Etruscan Elegance jumbo wheel image. Originally I ran the wheel all the way across the card and added a paperr layer but it just didn't look right. By chance, I had a scrap piece of paper fall onto the card and cover up part of the wheeled image & I liked it!

100_9126Another change was I did 3 paper ribbons using our Howlsthooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper along the left edge.I also sponged all the edges of all the elements as well as the card base with Curmb Cake ink using our Stampin' Sponge. A trick to getting those pointed ribbon ends is to use any of your square punches to punch them! I raised the Tango Tangerine paper ribbon using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I guess you could say I didn't really change the challenge layout as they are just blocks and you insert the elements you want.

The materials I used for this card are: Crumb Cake( my favorite), Whisper White & Tangerine Tango cardstocks, StazOn Jet Black & Crumb Cake inks, Stampin' Sponge, Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP, Antique Brads, Etruscan Elegance jumbo wheel # 127868 & Toxic Treats stamp set # 127898(w) #127901(c).

This witch rock & rolled!

Creating this card was fun, I loved how the rock & roll technique turned out. I stamped the witch image from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set # 127898 (w) # 127901 (c) in Wisteria Wonder Ink first then rock & rolled it in the Basic Black Ink then stamped the image onto Very Vanilla cardstock. I used the Labels Collection Framelits # 125598 to cut the image out. I cut out a few banners and the mat from the Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper # 126906. The Tangerine Tango mat bhind the witch image was run through the Big Shot using the new Argyle Folder # 127750. The card base is Wisterria Wonder. I got my color combo from the howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP, however you will notice that Wisteria WOnder is not listed as a color found in the DSP. I love adding purple to my Halloween paper crafts & cards and felt that the Wisteria Wonder was a good coordinating purple because of it's gray undertones. Many that see this card think the Basic Gray in the DSP is Wisteria Wonder! …But I tell them that if they look closely they will see that it is actually gray. Funny how our eyes can fool us!

100_9121

This card actually opens from the bottom, with the fold at the top. If you'd like to add some bling to this card you could use our 2-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. I think I would go overr the bats in the upper left hand corner, I feel this doesn't need alot of bling but that would be just the right touch if you wanted some.

I just love all the patterns in the Howlstooth & Scringbone DSP pack, you could change up the look of this card just by using the other sides! I love the dimensional look of the rock & roll technique on this card.

Ghoulish Googlies Bundle and lollies for treats and decor

I am sharing another treat idea I created using the Ghoulish Googlies Bundle for the Scrapbook Expo. Before I get into the details let me ask you…… if you haven't purchased our Silicone Craft Mat  (# 127853) found in the Holiday Catalog on page 31… "What are you waiting for???" This item is a must have for every crafter out there.. Ok, now that I got that off my chest, back to the project at hand.

I started out creating the treat tube out of your everyday toilet paper tube- start
100_9163saving those babies now- once you make one you will be addicted! I decorated it with our Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series paper ( # 126906), attaching it using Sticky Strip. I added bling by applying Champaign Glass Glitter # 120997 where the 2 different DSP patterns met.

It was still a little plain so I stepped it up a notch with our Crumb Cake 3 1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon # 127840. Oh my gosh…. tell me, just who doesn't love this stuff?? It is to die for! I cut a 8" piece, folded it in 1/2, and ran a running stich using our Bakers Twine, gathered it up, tied a knot then a bow and, walla!   Such a fun, sofisticated touch to a toilet paper tube!

100_9164I cut a 1 1/4" strip of the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP, scored it every 1/2" using our Simply Scored Scoring Tool, secured the ends with Sticky Strip and made the lollie. I put a blob of hot glue on the Silicone Craft Mat (# 127853), pressed down the lollie so the center was in the hot glue and held it until it cooled enough to let go. Once it cooled completely I just peeled the hot glue off the Silicone Craft mat. Yep. It was just THAT easy peasy!! I told you this is a must have for all crafters!! I decorated it by stamping the witch image onto Very Vanilla Cardstock then punching it out using our 1 3/4" Circle Punch. A little coloring and add the googly eyes, some Champaign Glass Glitter for the edges of the lollie. Fill one of our 4×6 cello bags with some treats to tuck inside~who wouldn't love getting this Halloween treat?

I can't wait! I want to buy it all now!!100_9131

I made the other 2 larger lollies to show how you could also use the toilet paper treat holder and larger lollies as table decorations for your Halloween party.

Oh, I just got another idea! Why not attach a few fun lollies to one of those headbands with antenae??

Oh, the possibilities are endless…..

Christmas in July

I held the first of a series of 3 holiday classes today. Participants in my Christmas in July class enjoyed creating 3 fun projects to give for the upcoming holidays. I know they will get a jump on making their holiday gifts by recreating these in the upcoming months.

The first project they created was a shabby-chic frame. They enjoyed learning the tricks to taking cardstock, basic rhinestones or basic pearls,  embossing powder , & a simple wood frame and turning it into this great gift.

The second project was this great DVD/ CD holder. They will be able to share memories with friends and family by creating a photo CD and putting it into this wonderful holder. The recipient will not want to stick this into a drawer but rather display it for all to see!

The final project was a simple lipbalm holder that can be used as a stocking stuffer, or small gift to give to co-workers, teachers or frineds. They all were happy to receive their very own Stampin' Up! lipbalm as my special treat for them.

I truely believe that the packaging makes small gifts special!

My next holiday class will be September 11 and we will make 3 different projects. Check out My Calendar of Events and RSVP early so you don't miss out on the next projects!

Here is a photo of the projects made in my Christmas in July Stamp Camp. ( They only made 1 frame but I wanted to share a few different ones with you)

July 4th wreath

Looking for a quick and easy decoration for Independence Day? This July 4th wreath was just one of the projects I shared last Saturday at my Summer Fun, all day event. My guests enjoyed learning how to create 4 different projects to help make their lives a little easier.

These projects included:

2 different memory page layouts, that are ready for pictures, that they can :

  • Split into 4 gifts by adding pictures & framing. These would be treasured by the recipients for years to come.
  • Add pictures to and give to a special someone to add to their memory books
  • Add pictures and put into their own memory books

A card holder & an assortment of 4 cards with customized envelopes

  • these make great gifts for those hard to buy for people on your holiday gift list
  • a great housewarming gift
  • a great "just because" gift
  • a great way to keep your stock of cards full

A July 4th wreath

  Just the right size to:

  • to hang on your front door
  • to use as a centerpiece to add sparkle to your party table
  • to give to your party host/ hostess
  • a great start or addition to your holiday decor

My guests learned some fun/new techniques while creating the elements for the July 4th wreath.

100_8685The first element we made for the wreath was this grouping that included a "lolly" holding 3 firecrackers and 2 doilies cut from the Perfect Pennants Bigz L die with Silver Glitter stars that they punched out. The lollies were made from 1 1/2" strips pf Whisper White card sock scored at every 1/2". Using the Stampin' Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool made making the lolly a breeze! The wicks are made of White Bakers Twine. We tied the 3 firecrackers together with our Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine.

100_8686Everyone enjoyed learning how to make these cute windmills from card stock and Designer Series Paper. All you need is a 3" square of Designer Series Paper, a 2 3/4" square of card stock, a brad, and a kabob skewer to create these. You glue the Designer Series Paper and card stock together. You then cut towards the center from each corner to within 1 1/4" of the center.Using your paper piercer and mat poke a hole into every other corner. Now bring these corners to the center and secure with a brad.

100_8688Creating this pennant to place at the bottom of the wreath was made easy using the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die # 123126. We secured the Whisper White strips  to pieces of 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of Real Red card stock then cut out the pennant. The 1/2 lolly is made from a 2" x 12" strip of Whisper White card stock which we adhered Real Red and Pacific Point card strips to. Everyone learned my tricks on keeping your lolly from popping up or apart. This 1/2 lolly has it's own little tricks too! Want to learn the trick? Watch for the lolly trick video coming soon!

100_8689The final element of the july 4th Wreath was the banner flowing across the top of the wreath. A little bit of hot glue to attach the elements to the wreath and it was complete! The 3 red stars on the banner are created by punching them out of Red Glitter Paper. This wreath makes the perfect addition your holiday decorations.

Serene Snowflakes,Many Merry Messages retiring Stampin’ Up! stamp sets

The Serene Snowflakes stamp set has wonderful snowflake images aren't your average snowflakes. The Many Merry Messages stamp set has verses for the front of your card as well as lovely messages for the inside and is a set I found myself using over and over again for my holiday cards and on my scrapbook pages.

The snowflakes in the Serene Snowflake set are so delicate and elegant that they can be used as wonderful elements on your stamping projects.Experiment with the punches you own and watch all the wonderful images you can achieve with this set. You can also use your punch to punch out a piece of sticky note to use as a mask. What? , you ask. Try this: punch out your desired punch shape from the enter of a piece of sticky note. Stick this dowwn on the cardstock you wish to stamp your image. Ink up your stamp, and stamp inside the punched space. Remove the sticky note and , walla! You have a new look to your stamp image. I have done this technique using the three larger snowflakes in the Serene Snowflake stamp set.

House of Haunts, retiring Stampin’ Up! stamp set

The House of Haunts stamp set is a great set to use for your Halloween parties for decorations, invitations, favors and more.I just love the haunted house in this set. I was asked to create some fun projects for a friends’ Halloween party last year. I created toppers for cupcakes using this stamp. I stamped the image onto Concord Crush card stock, using our Basic Black Craft Pad, sprinkled Black embossing powder on 1/2 the images and Silver embossing powder on the other half. I cut each one out, omitting the moon, and then secured them to the front of a toothpick. On the back of this I attached Daffodil Delight 1 1/2″ circle I punched and attached it to a Basic Gray circle that I cut using the circle #2 die for the Big Shot. These were then stuck into purple frosted cupcakes. The tree and pumpkin stamps in the House of Haunts set are great to add to food labels to tell your guests what all those ghoulish treats are. I thought I had saved a few samples of these and the invitations but I was unable to find them. I am sharing one of the samples of the invitations she had to choose from. We went with this design but added “You’re Invited” in White StazOn ink to the punched bat and a few Rhinestone jewels to the Haunted House.

Dasher stamp set, retiring Stampin’ Up! stamp set

The Dasher stamp set was my number 1 selling holiday stamp last year. I found it amazing how many different designs my customers and friends came up using the Dasher stamp set. It appeared on the most deco to country styles, from the most simple to the most intricate, elegant card designs. Dasher saw everything from jewels, buttons, and glitter on his antlers, one customer even put mini gum drop candies on them~ which was just too darn cute!

The sample I am sharing with you today is one that my Hostess Clubs made. My In The Mail Clubs received a video with this and 2 other cards for the month of September 2011. The Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder picks up the details in the Designer Series Paper which picks up the elegant whimsey of the antlers of Dasher. You could turn Dasher into Rudolph by adding a Rhinestone Jewel to his nose and coloring it with a red Sharpie pen.

Winter Post is a stamp set that I used for some of my holiday cards these last few years.  The card I am sharing with you today is one of the 6 different cards I created for friends and workshop  guest & online order thank you’s two years ago. The Designer Series paperr was one offered for the 2010 holiday season and I took my color cues from it.

Easter Basket Video!

I have completed my first video, a Easter Basket/ Spring Basket, and hope you enjoy it! While there isn’t any rubber stamping done on the basket the possibilities are endless when it comes to accessorizing these cuties.  Other demonstrators have shared a similar, cute little basket but not the instructions or measurements. This video contains my version of creating a spring/ Easter basket, simply and quickly. For this version you will need the following:

1 piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, your choice of color

Simply Scored Scoring Tool # 122334

Paper Snips #103579

Lace Ribbon Border Punch # 122362

Brads # 127279 (I used  FREE Sale A Bration , Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack)

SNAIL Adhesive # 104332

Crop O Dile # 108362

I did embed the measurements into the video but am not sure why they’re not showing up! If you need them please leave a comment and I will send them to you.

I am making an assortment of these to give to those who visit during the spring and Easter. I found some flower seeds on sale for 10 cents a pack and think they would be a cute item to stuff into these along with some other goodies.

I know you will enjoy making your own version of these spring/Easter baskets!

Festive & Fun Valentine

I know the Festive & Fun stamp set is not available at this time but I have had several requests to share my Valentine card I created using this set. This set was available in our 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog.

The first thing you will probably notice when you look at this card is that I did not stamp the image as shown in the mini catalog or as it is intended. I didn't want it as a long image for my card but rather more square so I inked up" "v thru "n", cleaned my stamp then stamped the "t" thru "e" under the first stamped image. I did use StazOn Jet Black ink so that is why I had to clean my stamp thoroughly between stamping. I watercolored the images so that is why I used the StazOn instead of our Basic Black Stampin Write marker. The Basic Black marker is not permanent so the ink will run when you watercolor. I used Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Certainly Celery, and Pink Pirouette and my Aqua Painter to watercolor the images. I used our small heart punch to stamp the heart out of our Red Glitter paper for the tip of the arrow.  I used Pink Pirouette cardstock and punched along one edge using our Scallop Edge Punch and added some stitching detail using a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker ( this tied in the stitching found in the "n" of the image. The Designer Series paper I used came from our Subtles Designer Series Paper Pack # 117152. I added a Whisper White Satin Ribbon, a mat of Certainly Celerry cardstock and a little Dazzling Details to the dots in the heart and walla!! my valentine is all ready to give to my sweetie tomorrow!!

LastScanI hope you use your Festive & Fun satmp set as much as I do!
