Paintbrush Easel Card fans, get ready for a bold blend of creativity and color! This week’s project combines the rustic charm of paintbrushes with the soft beauty of florals—and turns it all into a dimensional, display-worthy easel card.

The star of the show? Three stamped paintbrushes from the Trusty Tools Stamp Set, each “painting” a section of the Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper. The result is a thank-you card that looks like a watercolor canvas brought to life—no paint mess required.
This easel fold is one of my favorite layouts for adding a little wow without a lot of fuss. The upright design not only gives visual impact but also makes this card perfect for propping up on a desk or shelf.
To create this illusion, I stamped the paintbrushes using StazOn Jet Black Ink and colored them with Stampin’ Write Markers in Strawberry Slush, Pool Party, and Peach Pie. I coordinated the ink colors with the florals in the Floral Impressions DSP, so it appears like the brushes are painting the background directly onto the card.

Paintbrush Easel Card: Bold Layers & Artistic Flair
Did you notice the watercolor effect behind the floral papers and on the inside of the card? Those were created with a little ink on an acrylic stamp block. I then spritzed the ink with a little water and “stamped” the color.

The bottom panel of the easel is ink-blended to echo those same colors and layered with a thank-you sentiment popped up on dimensional layers. A few floral embellishments give texture and bring the whole design together.
Cardstock Measurements:
- Strawberry Slush: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″
- Old Olive (2): 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Basic White (2): 3 3/4″ x 5″
- Scraps: Basic White and Old Olive for sentiment & flowers
This Paintbrush Easel Card is a beautiful example of mixing themes—hardworking tools meet soft florals—for a look that’s unexpected but totally delightful. Whether you’re thanking a crafty friend or just showing off your creative chops, this card makes a lasting impression.
