Mixed Bunch, color palette series #3

These flowers in the Mixed Bunch stamp set seemed to be the perfect image for this card. The series #3 color palette consists of ; Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight & Lucky Limeade. I think I was secretly wishing that winter would finally end when I picked the first 3 color palettes because they all have been bright, cheerful colors. Some of you have commented that you were surprised I haven’t used my favorite color, Crumb Cake. I am happy to let you know, Crumb Cake will be part of the series #4 color palette!! Woo! Hoo!

For this version of this card I used theWindow Frames Collection framelits to create the Tangerine Tango element. I paired it with the coordinating Festive Piercing Pack  to add the pierced details. Gotta love when Stampin’ Up! coordinates their products to help make creating easier for all.

Mixed Bunch friend card

I want to let you in a little secret~ I originally intended to have the Tangerine Tango element at the bottom instead of the top. Why did I change it? Well you see when I added the flower elements it reminded me of a face with one green and one blue eye and the curved piece made a smile!

I can see you tilting your head to see what I’m talking about. . . .

Too funny!!!!!!!

Here, I flipped it for you. . . .

NEW!! Simply Scored Diagonal Plate

1

Wishes do come true! The Simply Scored Diagonal Plate #125586   was requested for soon after the Simply Scored Scoring  # 122334 came avaiable. Stampin’ Up! has this great video to demonstrate how to use it.

The Simply Scored Diagonal Plate will help you to create envelopes for those much loved circular cards as well as note cards and gift cards as well as making some of those projects with diagonal scoring alot easier. I am in the process of creating a FREE class that you can attend in my stamp studio in Naperville, IL. Each person that orders the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate from me can receive this FREE class. Don’t live close by? I will send you a PDF file with all the projects we create in class.

To create a card to fit your diagonal cards created with the scallop circle BigZ Big Shot Die follow these measurements:

Cut DSP to measure 8″x8″. Score @ 3 3/8″ on all 4 sides. Using your paper snips or your 1 3/8″ square punch, clip off the 4 triangles where the score lines intersect. Fold at score lines, bringing in 2 sides, then bottom. I attach the flaps with a little bit of Sticky Strip for a secure hold. You can leave the top flap pointed or soften it with one of your corner punches. I am having problems with my scanner so I will try to post the card and envelope I made soon!

I know Iwill be sharing more great ideas using this great NEW TOOL with you soon!

Elegant Ageless Aviary

The Aviary stamp set is a set for all ages, you can make cards for infants to adults. I find myself using it oten for a variety of occasions. I was needing a card for a special friend and reached for Aviary, because she is a bird watcher.

Here is what I used for this card:                      12

Stamps: Aviary # 116956 (w) #120462(C)

Inks: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze

Paper: Whisper White,  8 1/2 x 5 1/2 , 2 x 2

Cajun Craze,5 1/4 x 4

Baja Breeze, 5 x 2 3/4

Soft Suede, 2 1/4 x 2 1/4

Misc: Stampin' Sponge, Basic Pearls,Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon

You may order these supplies HERE

You will sponge around the Baja Breeze and Whisper White with the Stampin' Sponge using Soft Suede ink. To make the little bird  background I lined up the 2 little birds on my acrylic block and  stamped across using Soft Suede ink. If you have wood blocks you will have to stamp each bird individually.  Stamp the birdcage of your choice in Soft Suede ink then stamp the bird of your choice in Baja Breeze. I used a large Basic Pearl at the top of the bird cage and smaller ones across the center and 1 at the bottom ( I just love how they add elegance and dimension). If you'd like you can put a verse in the lower right hand corner below the ribbon.

A fun note for this card: we have this owl that we enjoy listening to every night. For some reason it hasn't been around this past summer. As I was finishing up this card I heard a familiar sound, faintly outside. It was our owl! It returned. Do you think it thinks this card is for him (her)?? I am needing a baby card and will use Aviary and share it with you too, soon!
