Mixed Bunch, color palette series #3

These flowers in the Mixed Bunch stamp set seemed to be the perfect image for this card. The series #3 color palette consists of ; Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight & Lucky Limeade. I think I was secretly wishing that winter would finally end when I picked the first 3 color palettes because they all have been bright, cheerful colors. Some of you have commented that you were surprised I haven’t used my favorite color, Crumb Cake. I am happy to let you know, Crumb Cake will be part of the series #4 color palette!! Woo! Hoo!

For this version of this card I used theWindow Frames Collection framelits to create the Tangerine Tango element. I paired it with the coordinating Festive Piercing Pack  to add the pierced details. Gotta love when Stampin’ Up! coordinates their products to help make creating easier for all.

Mixed Bunch friend card

I want to let you in a little secret~ I originally intended to have the Tangerine Tango element at the bottom instead of the top. Why did I change it? Well you see when I added the flower elements it reminded me of a face with one green and one blue eye and the curved piece made a smile!

I can see you tilting your head to see what I’m talking about. . . .

Too funny!!!!!!!

Here, I flipped it for you. . . .

If you liked the card I posted on my Facebook page you’re gonna love this butterfly one too! As I said, I can’t decide which layout I love more, this one or the over there.

For this last card of this Series #2 pattern, pattern and more pattern is the theme. I am not going to use the Moving Forward stamp set, instead, I am using the Elegant Butterfly punch and the  stamp set. I have also used all the colors in the series color palette; Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Real Red , and Tangerine Tango. I found that by having a layer of Island Indigo peek from the back of the butterflies it gave them more depth.

In A Snap- A Step Up project Series #1,scrapbook page

This is my final project for Series #1 in my In A Snap – A Step Up project. No, it’s not the end of the projects just the Series #1 which is the color palette of Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Melon Mambo & So Saffron. I will bringing you a new color palette next week with even more projects for you to copy and share!

This project has a special place in my heart because it is going to be one of the pages in my future grand-daughters memory book that I will be giving her parents in a few weeks. I just think these snails are so adorable and were the perfect image to use on this page. I  intend this page to be used when she starts crawling. I would like to a title of- “Cute as a button, creepin’ at a snails pace” but not sure they will want it as a title so I will make the title for them later. Now that I look at that title it reminds me of the Eric Church song- “Creepin”! Guess I could use creeping instead. . . . Oh my gosh, that song is stuck in my head now! Too funny.

To get back to the project at hand~ I used our Scalloped Border Punch for the edges of the picture mat and the tag. I plan to have them put the date and a little journaling in the tag. I was originally going to stamp the snails in black and water color them in using Certainly Celery & Melon Mambo inks but decided to add the buttons instead.

Button Buddies scrapbook page

A few other details I added are; the stitching along both edges of the bottom strip, the embossed polka dots on the picture mat edge, the Melon Mambo ribbon, the Rose Red button (coordinates great!). These little details are quick to add.

Today I am sharing a fun 4×4 card that is quick to create. My color palette is; Island Indigo, Early Espresso and Whisper White. If you’d like this card to be on more of the masculine side you could choose to use River Rock, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, or any of our other lighter Neutrals to replace the Whisper White.

I love how the white space in this card makes the elements on the card stand out. I use the term white space as a reference to the unstamped space on this card.  I stamped the banner using Early Espresso ink on Island Indigo card stock. I backed the Designer Builder Brad with Early Espresso card stock to add depth.

The “You make me smile!” phrase is from the Spring Surprise Special “A Round Array” that is available to purchase alone or in a bunch with the coordinating 7/8″ scallop circle punch. View the Spring Surprise Special here by clicking here.  (I used a 1″circle punch so the scallops look like little polka dots instead of scallops. I also decided I didn’t want to used the little dome thingy that goes with the Designer Builder Brad and instead put my stamped element on with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  A Round Array element

Here is a close up of this element.

I am happy with the simplicity of this card- how do you like it? Please leave me a comment and I will choose a name on April 20th and send it to the winner!

Tea Shoppe again

I hope you enjoyed yesterday's sample using the Tea Shoppe stamp set! As promised, I am going to share the bolder side of this set and the Twitterpated DSP.

Tea for Two 2I used Riding HoodRed  as the card base, Pear Pizzaz,Riding Hood Red and Basic Gray for the mats. Once again, I used 2 different sides of the Twitterpated DSP. I added interest and texture to down the center of the Baja Breeze side of the DSP using the 3/8" Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon found on page 12 of the Occasions Mini Catalog 2012. I just love, love, love this new ribbon and am so hApPy it comes in Pear Pizzaz, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride, and Baja Breeze. This is one example of making stamping easier by cutting the tea cups apart. By doing this I was able to stamp each on it's own color, making it much quicker to create this card 50 times for my swaps at Leadership! Did you notice I did use the marker to stamp technique on the verse? I stamped the verse onto my Basic Gray Ink Pad, erased the ink off the tiny tea cup using my blender pen, then using my Pear Pizzaz Stampin' Write Marker, I colored the heart. This may sound like a long process but do you really think I would have taken these few extra setps if it took me THAT long? Heck no, not me!!  Tea for Two 2

If you click on the above, image you will also see that I stamped the violets from the Tea Shoppe stamp set in the lower left hand corner using Riding Hood Red so it adds interest without drawing your eye away from the focal point. I felt the card needed a little something in the upper left hand corner so I used 3 mini Basic Pearls. As an after-thought I could have added 3 of the Poisy shaped flowers from our Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and then added the pearls to each of the posies.

Once again these pictures were taken with my phone so aren't the best, sorry!

I hope these samples have inspired your imagination. I know you will be happy when you add  the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set to your stamp collection!

You can purchase it today , 24/7, by going to my online store!
