Etruscan Elegance jumbo wheel Archives

I am loving creating with the Toxic Treats stamp set from our Holiday Catalog. I saw a challenge layout online and thought I would give it a try with Toxic Treats. In the challenge their was supposed to be another layer where I put the Etruscan Elegance jumbo wheel image. Originally I ran the wheel all the way across the card and added a paperr layer but it just didn't look right. By chance, I had a scrap piece of paper fall onto the card and cover up part of the wheeled image & I liked it!

Another change was I did 3 paper ribbons using our Howlsthooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper along the left edge.I also sponged all the edges of all the elements as well as the card base with Curmb Cake ink using our Stampin' Sponge. A trick to getting those pointed ribbon ends is to use any of your square punches to punch them! I raised the Tango Tangerine paper ribbon using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I guess you could say I didn't really change the challenge layout as they are just blocks and you insert the elements you want.

The materials I used for this card are: Crumb Cake( my favorite), Whisper White & Tangerine Tango cardstocks, StazOn Jet Black & Crumb Cake inks, Stampin' Sponge, Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP, Antique Brads, Etruscan Elegance jumbo wheel # 127868 & Toxic Treats stamp set # 127898(w) #127901(c).

Fabulous, fun & fast is the technique I used for this card. While it probably didn't take me as long as it may take you to create this card, it is still a quick card to duplicate. before leaving for convention I grabbed a bunch of miscillaneous paper pieces from my scrap bin to challenge myself to create a card from them. I did stamp the whisper white carstock before leaving using the Etruscan Elegance jumbo wheel you will find in the upcoming 2012 Holiday Catalog. You will find it on page 25 with the Halloween marchandise. Let me tell you, I just love this wheel! I knew I had picked out some leftover pieces of Baja Breeze cardstock that was left from some Top Notes we cut out for another card. ( yes I saved them!) I quickly wheeled them and put them in with my other scraps. The birds were stamped in Basic Gray onto Baja Breeze carstock using the Language of Friendship stamp set. I then punche dthem out using our Bird Builder punch. Can you believe I made 64 of these for my masculine swap and then decided not to use them?? You'd think I would have created the card before doing 62 of them but, oh no, I just kept on a going….. Good thing too because this card would never have been created if I didn't make this huge error. The flowers were also left over from a previous club project. Want to see what I came up with?

Not bad huh? I had also cut out all the framelit frames for ather swap and didn't use them. It's not as bad as it sounds because all the cardstock I used were scraps in my scrap bin and they will be put to use.

I was able to create 10 of these fabulous , fun, & fast cards from the scraps I brought with. Other demos loved this card and commented that they will definately be purchasing the Etruscan Elegance wheel.
