Stamps Ink and Paper are spot on with this Butterfly Gala card.
I am am amazed at how many different butterflies we are seeing lately. Last year I decided to start a butterfly garden. I started planting perennials that attract butterflies last year. This year I added some annuals by seed early in the spring. My husband thought I was a little crazy because I was spreading them when there was still snow on the ground. The flowers have begun to bloom and the butterflies are coming!
I wanted to make a simple card using stamps, ink, and paper
so grabbed my Butterfly Gala stamp set (#148580). My color palette is Real Red, Coastal Cabana, and Daffodil Delight. I also used the 2″ Circle (#133782) & Buttefly Duet (#148523) punches.
I began by stamping the butterflies in Memento Ink and colored them using Stampin’ Write Markers in Real Red, Coastal Cabana, and Daffoldile Delight. Coloring them was easy and fun. As you can see each butterfly uses these colors in different areas creating three unique butterflies. Cutting them out was made easy with the coordintaing Butterfly Duet Punch. This punch punches out both butterflies at once! Yes, I did color all six butterflies. I finished the butterflies off by brushing on some Wink of Stella on top of them.
The butterflies looked good on my card front but they didn’t pop. I grabbed my 2″ Circle Punch and punched out 3 circles, one in each of the colors. I placed them onto the card front and then popped up the butterflies with a Stampin’ DImesnional. Don’t you think that adding these circles gave this card the punch it needed?
I couldn’t let those three extra little butterflies go to waste. I stamped my sentiment on the inside of the card and they are now dancing around it!
