Spring is in the Air with Soft Colors and Bees

Spring is in the air—and so are the bees! During our recent Live, I had so much fun creating this bright and cheerful “You’re as Sweet as Honey” card. It’s the perfect project to shake off the winter blues and welcome the sunshine with a smile (or a few happy buzzing friends)! For the layout, I shared the Fractured Card Technique.

Let’s talk layout! That plaid frame? Total game-changer. I used coordinating patterned papers from the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper to create a fun, angled grid that instantly draws your eye to the center. If your cuts a little off-kilter, don’t panic—it just adds character! (And honestly, this layout is super forgiving.)

Two of the triangles features a different print from the Bee Mine DSP, and they all work so well together. Happy florals, buzzing bees, honeycomb textures—it’s like spring exploded in the best way. That’s the beauty and what everyone loves about Stampin’ Up!’s paper coordination: you don’t have to guess what goes together. Look at how the stamped bee image coordinates with the DSP! It just works.

The sentiment, “You’re as sweet as honey,” is stamped front and center in crisp black ink, surrounded by all that playful paper. And of course, our card needed one extra-special visitor… a big, smiling bee! I stamped, cut, and popped her up on dimensionals so she’s practically flying off the card. If you want a little sparkle to your card, add some Wink of Stella to the bee’s wings.

Have you seen the coordinating bundle that is in the Jan-April Mini Catalog?

Check it out here!

After my Live I decided to add some faux stitching around the sentiment. Here is how it turned out.

This is a look at both of the sentiment blocks, side-by-side. Leave me a comment on which one you prefer.
