Special Folds for the S.B.T.D. January Blog Hop

Are you enjoying learning some new Special Folds in this month’s blog hop with the S.B.T.D. stampers? Whether you are beginning the hop here or came from Karie’s project, Welcome!

I’m using the Incredible Like You the stamp set found on page 21 in our newly released Occasions Catalog for this month’s special fold project. This fun set has a coordinating card kit perfect for all level stampers. I am falling in love with this set! It’s been a “go to” set recently, with it’s versatile verses perfect for close and not-so-close friends. It is also a set that coordinates with several of our Designer Series Papers. BONUS! I chose the color palette of Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Soft Sea, Shaded Spruce which I took from the Garden Impressions 6×6 Designers Series Paper stack from our 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. A fellow demonstrator shared a card using this fold on one of demonstrator boards and I just had to make it. I’m not sure what this fold is called but I am calling a triple flap card.

This special fold card looks like a regular card, I didn’t look for instructions for creating the card but just began making it, my way. so you may have seen similar cards online and think, “That’s not how “X” said to make it!”

I began with a standard card base, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″ like a normal base. I then cut a top and bottom flap 2″ from each end and then cut along the score line to leave a 1 1/2″ space. In this space I added a 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″, scored @ 1″, Blushing Bride strip to the right edge of the card, lining up the scored line with the card’s edge. From here I decorated the card.

You begin opening the card with this flap that opens to the right revealing the first part of this special fold. Peeking out from the inside are these roses from the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper.

Opening the 2 flaps on the left reveals another verse and a space to sign the card. Don’t you love how the stamps in this set and the coordinating inks seamlessly pulls the Designer Series Paper right onto the Whisper White mats?
