Nothing’s Better Than Hot Cocoa. With More Than Autumn

Nothing’s better than hot cocoa on a chilly day—especially when it’s topped with a swirl of whipped cream! Today, I’m bringing that warm, comforting feeling to a handmade card using the More Than Autumn Stamp Set and Shimmery White Embossing Paste.

If you love adding fun textures and realistic details to your projects, this embossing paste technique is a must-try!

Nothing’s Better Than Hot Cocoa with Whipped Cream—In Stamping Form!

To make the whipped cream on this adorable peppermint hot cocoa card, follow these simple steps:

  1. Stamp the Whipped Cream – Using Real Red Ink, stamp the whipped cream image onto cardstock.
  2. Die-Cut the Image – Cut out the stamped whipped cream shape using the coordinating dies.
  3. Assemble Your Card Base – Before applying the embossing paste, complete your card assembly. Here’s how I designed mine:
  • Rich, cozy color palette featuring Real Red and White, with a pop of polka dots for a fun, festive look.
  • Layered elements add depth, including stitched banners for “Peppermint” and “Hot Cocoa.”
  • Subtle embellishments, like clear dot embellishments, mimic the warmth of a steaming drink.
  • Apply the Whipped Cream! – Now for the magic moment! Grab your Palette Knife and:
  • Gently dab Shimmery White Embossing Paste onto the whipped cream die-cut (that is already adhered to the card).
  • Swirl it lightly to create realistic, puffy peaks—just like the real thing!
  • As the paste settles, you’ll notice the Real Red ink subtly tints the paste, adding a natural creamy effect (it’s like it melts into the fluffiness. Isn’t that cool?!).
  • Let It Dry – Set your card aside for a few minutes to let the embossing paste fully dry. Once dry, you’re left with an irresistibly soft, textured look that makes your hot cocoa cup pop off the page!

This card is perfect for the holidays, winter birthdays, or just sending a warm & cozy hello to a friend. Want to try this technique? Grab your More Than Autumn Bundle (164076) and Shimmery White Embossing Paste (145645) and start crafting! If you don’t have these, grab them off the Last Chance section of my Online Store. But don’t wait! They’re only available while supplies last.

And while you’re at it, why not make a real cup of hot cocoa to sip while you create?

Do you prefer classic cocoa, peppermint, or a fun twist like caramel? Let me know in the comments!
