Let’s Create a Valentine’s Card using the More Than Autumn Stamp Set and prove once again that a “seasonal” stamp set doesn’t have to live in just one month or season of the year. This fun donut-themed card is the perfect example of how looking at your stamps with fresh eyes can completely change how often you reach for them.
At first glance, the More Than Autumn Stamp Set feels very fall-focused, but once you strip away the traditional colors and sentiments, what you’re really left with are versatile images that can work for birthdays, thank-you cards, encouragement—and yes, even Valentine’s Day. Donuts and love go hand in hand, after all.
For this card, I leaned into a soft Valentine color palette using Pretty in Pink and Real Red, which instantly shifted the mood from autumn to sweet and playful. The heart-patterned background adds visual interest without overpowering the focal images, and the simple layout keeps the card clean and easy to replicate.

Card Measurements
- Pretty in Pink Cardstock:
- 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- 3″ x 3″
- Basic White Cardstock:
- 4″ x 5 1/4″
- 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
- Three circles measuring 1 3/4″
- Love Designer Series Paper
- 4″ x 5 1/4″
The donuts were stamped in Real Red Classic Ink and then brought to life with Stampin’ Blends for soft shading and added dimension. You don’t need heavy coloring here—just a little blending around the edges gives the donuts a frosted, finished look without overworking the image.
Let’s Create a Valentine’s Card by Rethinking Seasonal Stamps
One of my favorite things to teach is how to stretch your supplies, and this project is a great example. Instead of buying a new stamp set for every holiday, try asking yourself:
Can this image work with different colors?
Would a different sentiment change the occasion?
Could I repeat the image to create a background or focal cluster?
Here, the donuts become the star simply by changing the color palette and pairing them with a love-themed sentiment. This approach not only saves money but also helps you feel more confident using what you already own.

This card would be perfect for a spouse, friend, or anyone who appreciates a little whimsy in their mailbox. And the best part? Once Valentine’s Day is over, you can swap the sentiment and colors and use this same layout year-round.
If you enjoy ideas that help you get more mileage out of your stamp sets, make sure to check back often. I love sharing projects that are simple, adaptable, and fun to create—because crafting should feel joyful, not overwhelming.
