I love being challenged to better myself, do you? My parents and others would challenge me when I was younger. Now, by others and myself, in stamping. I love the feeling & excitement when finishing a task, it’s indescribable!
Very often, I would make a game of the challenge which always made it more fun. I can remember picking cherries from the cherry tree when mom would want to make us a pie. Mom would ask if I thought I could pick enough cherries in time for her to make a pie for dinner. Cherry pie is my favorite, so of course I picked enough for that pie!
I love being challenged, even as an adult.
It is one way I keep things fresh and fun in my stamping too. It is amazing how many of my stamping friends enjoy challenges also!
Holding a weekly challenge in my, HapBEE Stamping with Judi Community, on Facebook. I began these challenges over a year ago. I change them up a bit to keep things interesting. Currently I post a photo of pieces of cardstock. I include measurements for these pieces. the challenge is to use only these pieces in your creation. Participants can use these pieces as is our use punches or dies. They can use Designer Series Paper in pace of cardstock. BUT, they can only use the pieces shown, no more. They may even add ribbon or other embellishments if they wish.
I post a photo of the pieces on every Friday between 1:00 & 2:00 (CT). Everyone has until 11:00 AM (CT) the following Friday to post what they make. I then come on at noon (CT) in a live and demonstrate the card I came up with.
Here is a challenge I have recently posted. These are the pieces and colors I used for my card. Participants can use whatever colors they wish.
I had corrected the base to measuring 8 1/2 x 4 1/4, not 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. The colors were: Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Soft Sea, and Basic White.
The inside of the card is just as cute as the front.
