Hey, My chicks are flying the coop! Or are they trying to get in? I had fun creating this card that uses the Hey Chick stamp set.
I have shared a few cards using this fun set in the past few weeks. Loving that I can get different looks with these fun characters. I wanted to create a fun card having them doing some fun antics.
Remembering the time my friend shouted, “Hey, my chicks are flying the coop!”
That’s it! These chicks are wanting to be free so they are helping each other out. I created the coop out of designer series paper and ideas flew from there!
I used several mediums to achieve their looks and intensity of color.
First, I wanted some to have a colorful yet soft look. I used our Blending brushes which helped to achieve different shades of the same color while blending different colors together easily.
For the area where I wanted a more vibrant color I used our Stampin’ Blends.
I wanted the chick peeking out the window to have a combination of both of these looks, I reached for my Watercolor Pencils and Blending Pen.
My dies didn’t arrived in time for my live so as you can see I had to do quite a bit of fussy cutting. I have made several cards since then using my Chick Dies and boy did my cards come together much quicker!
Take a look at this Facebook Live to see how this card is created…
Wasn’t that fun? I’ll bet it was much easier than you thought. Remember, the Chick Dies will make our project go much quicker. The stamp set and dies are only available for another week.
