Easy Color Tapping Technique cards are my new favorite thing—and this one turned out juicy and joyful! I grabbed my Perfectly Pears stamp set (can you tell I REALLY LOVE this set!) and let the blending brush do all the work. No complicated coloring, no fuss—just beautiful, layered color.

The card base is Flirty Flamingo, which pulls a cheerful pop from the background paper. That dotted DSP (Designer Series Paper) already had a pear-vibe going on, don’t you think?
I found a large die-cut scrap of Old Olive and decided to use it as my pear’s stage. Never underestimate the power of scraps—they’re your creative sidekick.
Easy Color Tapping Technique Adds Soft, Blended Color
To create that soft, realistic pear, I stamped the outline in Old Olive. Then, using a blending brush, I tapped Darling Duckling, Flirty Flamingo, and Old Olive inks across the image. I didn’t over blend—it’s that dappled, soft look that gives this fruit its glow.
For extra dimension, I cut out the pear and popped it up with dimensionals. The leaves are blended, too, using the same tap-tap-tap motion with Old Olive ink. I added a simple “FRIEND” sentiment on a flagged banner and a few sparkly embellishments. Done and delightful!

Inside the card, I continued the theme. I stamped the pear branch and used the same blending brush technique to softly color the fruit and leaves. Then I added the heartfelt sentiment:
“A good friend is a gift.”
Isn’t that the truth?

This card is a bright, cheerful way to show someone you care. It’s also a fun way to practice using blending brushes without needing fancy techniques or layers. Just a few soft dabs of ink in the right spots—easy, relaxing, and beautiful.
