Creating with left overs can be challenging but fun. What exactly are leftovers? Anything that you cut, punched, or die-cut but didn’t use when creating a project. I am sure you don’t have any laying around, now do you?!
I was cleaning out a space in my Stamp Studio when I came across several left overs from previous classes and make & takes from the last Scrapbook Expo I participated in. I’ve been sharing re-makes using these kits and left overs in my Facebook Group; HapBEE Stamping with Judi Community.
Sometimes I have a sample of the project and sometimes I don’t. I will use current stamp sets from the Annual & Jan-June mini catalogs when doing these remakes. This week I made some fun cards using the Hey Chick stamp set which has been brought back for the month of February. Normally the projects I share in this group are exclusive to it but I had so much fun creating these two cards, I wanted to share them with you.
Let’s take a look what I did when creating with left overs last night.
For this first card I showed how to use our Blending Brushes to mimmick the Designer Series Paper. The piece the sentiment is on was originally Basic White which took away from the chick image so we used the Blending Brushes to tone it down also.
This card was my favorite for the night. The original card kit contained the retired poppy designer series paper and some die cut pieces. I used the flower center to create this fun crown and participants voted to have the chick holding the stem with flower bud. Don’t you think the crown is perfect for this crazy chick?
