Create a Thank You Card with Layers and Simple Stamping

Create a Thank You Card with layers, simple Stamping and three juicy colors

If you’re looking for a cheerful way to show your gratitude, you’re in the right place. Today I’ll show you how to create a thank you card using the Perfectly Pears Bundle, a few ink pads, and some layered die cuts to pull it all together.

The inspiration for this card came from a ten-year-old girl. It’s like summer produce—those juicy colors just feel like sunshine on paper! I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock and brought out three bright inks: Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Highland Heather. These aren’t a combo I reach for every day, but together they create a color story that’s playful, fresh, and eye-catching.

The pears are stamped in those three shades. Then they’re intentionally placed a little “off” from each other so that none of them compete for attention. The secret here? Leave space between your stamped images for embellishments and a strong focal point.

Create a Thank You Card That Pops with Color and Texture

After stamping the pears, I reached for the floral die cuts from the bundle and used coordinating cardstock to build texture and contrast. By layering the die cuts behind the sentiment, I was able to create a soft halo effect that keeps the eye moving around the card. A little designing secret!

The sentiment itself is stamped in Highland Heather

. This is a crisp, grounding element that ties the soft colors together. I popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it some height.

Next, I finished everything off with a hand-drawn border using Stampin’ Write Markers and a ruler in the same three colors as the pears. It’s a small touch. That clean border pulls the entire design together like a frame around a piece of art.

Want to try this layout in a different color palette? Go for it! Swap the pears for oranges and the florals for leaves. You’ll get a whole new feel from the same technique.

This card was such a joy to create—and even more fun to share during my Facebook Live. If you missed it, be sure to catch the replay to see the full process, including how I layered the die cuts and added the sketch-style border. You can also see how I chose the ink order and made sure the stamped images didn’t overlap or get muddy.

Whether you’re new to stamping or you’ve been at it for years, I hope this project inspires you to grab your ink pads and create a thank you card that’s bright, bold, and uniquely yours.
