A beautiful fall butterfly is a rare site when tempuratures begin to get cooler. I plant flowers in my garden to attract butterflies in the spring and summer.
Our tempuratures have been a little warmer this past week. Wjile I was out getting my gardens ready for the winter I saw a rare orange and yellow butterfly go fluttering by. There were still a few flowers for it to visit but it didn’t stay long.
A beautiful fall butterfly inspired me to create this card.
I love to send cards, out of the blue, for a surprise in a friend’s mailbox. After all, who doesn’t have a smile on their face when they receive a card in the mail?
This card is perfect for a fall hello. It is made of oranges, yellows and gold. I used the Amazing Sihouettes stamp set (157814) from our Annual Catalog. Use any of the three images found in this set to create this card, using the same supplies, and you have a perfect set of cards to give as a gift.
I embossed the butterfly using our Gold Embossing Powder that is found in our Metallics pack. Then using a Water Painter I washed the butterfly creating this watercolor look. Wanting the image to really “pop”, I watercolored around the embossing with Pool Party classic ink.
The card base is Pumpkin Pie cardstock embossed with the Painted Texture 3-D Embossing Folder (154317). I rubbed my Pumkin Pie ink pad over the folder before running the cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
I love how my siting of a beautiful fall butterfly came to inspire me. Next time you are outdoors, take in your surroundings. You never know what will inspire your creativity!
The items I used today can be purchased at my online store here.
Until we meet again. . .
