Cut and Layer for Dimension, texture, and interest when making your cards. This one way to easily bring your cards to the next level.
I love that layering my paper pieces brings my cards to new heights. You can begin by layering one piece of paper directly on top of another. While this doesn’t add a lot of height it gives the look of depth.
When I want a little height, I will adhere my pieces with our Mini Glue Dots. I find this is a great way to add one peice on top of anther without making my project too deep.
To add more height, use our Stampin’ Dimensionals. Using one will raise your image/paper even higher. If you layer one layer on top of another with both being raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals count on using extra postage if mailing your card.
To raise it a little higher than the Stampin’ Dimensionals, use our Foam Adhesive Strips.
Cut and Layer for Dimension on your projects is addicting!
Loving the Desert Details Bundle of a stamp set and coordinating dies, I knew that the cut and layer technique was perfect. I could really get carried away with all of the die cuts in this bundle!
I used several different ways to add dimension to my card. Starting with using the Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the Delicate Desert Designer Series Paper (DSP) to a piece of Crumb Cake for my base. Next, I added the Burlap Ribbon around the Pale Papaya frame. Then using the Foam Adhesive Strips I added the frame over the DSP.. This created the highest layer with the most depth.
Using Tear & Tape at the base of the plant in the background, and Mini Glue Dots midway up. This added a little height to the tips of this plant.
I then used Liquid All-Purpose Glue to add the top plant over the frame. Since the frame was already raised I didn’t need to use any depth-adding adhesive to this die cut. When adding the flower I did use a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the flower and in between the leaves.
Let’s take a look at all these layers! This card not only has lots of dimension but lots of texture. The details in the frame die cut, the plants, the ribbon, and DSP all add texture.
I challenge you to cut a bunch of dies and different sizes of papers. Now, lay them out to create a card front. Begin adhering them by using a variety of adhesives. I know you will love the Cut and Layer for Dimension Technique on your paper craft projects!
Until we meet again. . .
