The fun Bandana Technique adds interest to your cards. Creating this look is so much fun when using a variety of stamps.
Bandanas were very popular when I was young. I wore them several different ways to keep my hair from flying all over. Wearing the as belts, wrapped around our necks and tucked into pockets. Bandanas come in a variety of colors too.
The designs on bandanas are mostly black and white on a solid color. Creating the designs ae a variety of shapes that usually contain a scroll shape of some type. A border goes around the sqaure of fabric then a design in the center.
The fun Bandana Technique takes on a nautical theme on this card.
For the bandana pattern I used the anchors and swirls, from the Sailing Home stamp set (149457), represents waves. These were stamped in black onto Pacific Point cardstock. Then I used my chalk marker to replicate stitched lines around the images. Did you notice the black stitching around the edge?

The Designer Series Paper is from the packaged of the “Waves of the Ocean” 12 x 12. All of the stamped images are from the Sailing Home stamp set (149457). The sentiment was punched out using the Tailored Tag punch (145667).
The pattern I made reminds me of an actual bandana I wore when boating. We spent weekends on the river. I had long hair that I didn’t like getting sand in when the wind blew. I had a red bandana that had a nautical theme of sail boats in the center with the sail tips at the center of the square. There were mile marker buoys in each corner. I don’t remember what else was on it. Please share what you use to create your project using the bandana technique.
Here is a video from my Tools and Techniques Thursday Live class where I showed how to do this technique. Enjoy!
Until we meet again. . . .
