Butterflies & Flowers layering decorative masks give unique looks to your craft and card projects. Create colored and textured backgrounds or use them as a focal point. These stencils are an easy way to add colored interest to your cards.

You can use the background masks on their own. But your images will really pop when you layer the detailed masks over the backgrounds to get even more depth and dimension. I love mixing and matching these masks to make unique looks.

Use with Classic Stampin’ Ink and coloring tools such as Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers for beautiful color. You can also use them with Embossing Paste and Palette Knives for textured designs.

In both of these samples I used our Classic Ink Pads and Blending Brushes to create patterns within the masks. In the above sample I just ran the blending brush across the mask in the desired color blending it into the previous color.

I started in the center of the sample below. The purpose is to show how you can create shapes within your mask. I loved experimenting with these two masks.

I used the same colors in these two butterflies. In the first one I used Mango Melody for the base, then Granny Apple Green for the details. In the second I revered the two colors. The dots are done with my Real Red Stampin’ Blend.

Butterflies & Flowers layering decorative masks on multiple layers create a beautiful card.

I started my card by stenciling the lacey flower mask using Coastal Cabana Classic Ink to create an interesting background. Next, I used the two flower masks to create the bouquet in assorted colors.

Do you see the three Polished Pink triangles? Those aren’t part of the masks. They were what I call opportunities! I love the look and interest they gave to the card.

Here is a video showing how I created the card. The video includes tips on using the masks.
