Easter Blessings & Best of Flowers stamp sets

When I received my Easter Blessings stamp I just couldn’t wait to use it with the hydrangea image fromBest of Flowers stamp set images(The Best of 25 Years Set) Best of Flowers .  I have a few smaller stamps that say Happy Easter and had my eye on this larger print stamp as soon as I saw it in our Seasonal Catalog. This is a single stamp so it only available as a wood -mount set. I just love the script & how it so elegantly flows, don’t you?

I created several cards using this set for my March Step-Up Class which had 3 different Easter cards & 2 thank you cards. I wanted a simple card using both of these sets for my 10-10-30 class.Participants did the “thumping technique” to create the  colors on the hydrangea. I am sure those of you that recognize this hydrangea are thinking,” Um, this sure does look smaller than I remember it.” You’re right! This set is a collection of 3  of the best flower stamps from the past quarter-century, only in a smaller size. I just love the sizes in this set as they are so versatile (and they go great with their larger original images).  This set also includes a never-before-seen flower image that coordinates perfectly with our 1-1/4″ Scallop Circle punch.

Easter Blessings & Best of FlowersHere is the card I came up with.

Serene Silhouetts thumping techniqueHere are the supplies I used:

Stamps: Serene Silhouettes # 127322 (w) #127324 (c)

Perfect Punches # 117022(w) #120516 (c)

Inks: Pretty in Pink, Perfect Plum, Garden Green Stampin’ Write Markers. Perfect Plum Classic Ink Pad.

Paper: Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White

Misc.: Punches- Itty Bitty Punch Pack #118309, modern label #119849, Pretty in Pink stitched grosgrain ribbon #126880, Big Shot  Die Cutting Machine #113439, Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue # 110755

I used the “thumping” technique on the flowers to give them a 2-tone look. To create the “ticket” corners  on the Pretty in Pink mat I punched them out using the circle punch that comes in the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, only inserting the corner about 1/3 in. I just love this trick and use it quite frequently on my paper crafts, cards and scrapbook pages. You can vary the size of your corners by using different size circle punches.

Until we meet again,

Trendy Trees meets thumping technique, retiring Stampin’ Up! stamp set,

Trendy Trees is a 2-step stamp set that is great set for techniques like “rock and   roll” , “thumping”, “watercolor spritz” and many other techniques that are great for use on solid stamps. You can achieve a more elegant look with this set if you dab on any of our Shimmer Paints using our sponge daubers. Using either the Frost White or Platinum Shimmer Paint and stamping onto any of our blue cardstocks achieves a wonderful winter look. If you’d like to get an “out of the box” look with the Trendy Trees stamp set why not make the circular image into a fun candy lollipop? You can even create a turkey using the scattered leaves image and a few of our punches. The idea I am sharing today uses the thumping technique to achieve the variegated fall color look.
