Our Monster Maniac stamp set is perfect for a Valentine page or two! I am in love with this set and have been using it for so many projects lately. It was the first one I went to in creating these scrapbook pages for my grand baby, Samantha. This will be her first Valentine’s Day.
The pages are only 8×8 because my daughter-in-law says she doesn’t do “picture books”. In fact, this book is going to be a book given to Samantha on her first birthday. It is filled with pages of “firsts”. I am trying to sneak pictures so her mom doesn’t know I am doing the book. I will add more elements ( punched hearts in Real Red, WHisper WHite & Coastal Cabana) and journal blocks after I put the pictures on the page.
I used Real Red, Coastal Cabana & Basic Black cardstock and paper from the Fresh Prints Designer Paper Pack (#132996).
Here is a close up of the little monster.
I used my Blender Pen to watercolor her ( or is it him?)
This is the second page. I will have my son & daughter-in-law, each, write a special message to Samantha and tuck them in a mini envelope so she can read them when she is old enough. I know she will treasure these notes forever. I will make the envelopes with my Envelope Punch Board ( #133774) once I get their “love” notes so they are just the right size.
When coloring this monster, I went over his hands and horn tips a few times so they would be a little darker. By layering the color I had more control of the final outcome.
I used my Stampin’ Write Marker fine tip to color in the stripes on the legs and neck. It is hard to tell in this picture but the neck is done in Real Red and Coastal Cabana and the legs are Real Red & white.
I have intended for these pages to be for Valentine’s Day but they could really be for any special event. I could see using it for one of those “cuddle” times or “What I love about you,” layout.
Do you find this stamp set irresistible? To order the Monstermaniacs 5-piece stamp set( #134972) for $14.95 go to my ONLINE STORE before it is no longer available. This stamp set is only available in clear-mount only.

I didn’t want to keep you waiting today so I am bringing you my Trendy Valentine Goody Bag early this morning. I can’t believe what a little sunshine will do for your creative juices, I spent the entire afternoon yesterday creating fun, quick projects to bring to you. My husband commented that I was like a little kid in a candy store showing him all my creations last night. Even the best of us have that creativity bug bite us and suck all the creativity out!
(I’ll let you in on a little secret.) I’ve been going through boxes since our move but we moved into a house not even 1/4 the size of our last home. I was constantly moving things to get to something then had to move it all back again. With no where for things to go we even had to stack things in front of the windows in the office/closet. While I was away in Houston my husband put up shelves & moved furniture. I came home to sunlight IN my house & I could walk without moving boxes or furniture!! Happy, happy, joy, joy. He’s a real keeper.
Don’t you just love it?
My picture just doesn’t do it justice. It just too dang cute and blingy in real life.
My scrap bin is getting full so I decided it was time for a challenge.I found a scrap of our Tea Lace Doily, some pieces of Red & Silver Glimmer papers & even Whisper White cardstock. I used them all!
Don’t you just love the detail that the Scallop Trim Border punch gives it? If you don’t have one yet now is a great time to get it because it is just one of the products in our Weekly Deals from 1/21/14 – 1/27/14. Check it out here.
I promised you I would share a video on how to create this fun, trendy Valentine goody bag. So without further ado. . . . . . . ( I’ve always wanted to say that!)
