Two Minute Technique Tuesday & Weekly Deals

The Brush Marker Technique is this Tuesday’s Two Minute Technique. I chose to use the “Be A Star” stamp set to demonstrate the technique.  My Facebook friends received another idea using this technique today when I used it on the 2nd of 12 holiday tags I am sharing there. Why not head over there and check it out?

Enjoy!

I know you are thinking,” wow, I can get a lot of different looks from one stamp by using the Brush Marker Technique .” And you’re right. Just by changing which parts of the stamp you choose to color can change the way an image looks.

Two Minute Technique Tuesday- Solid Stamping with Serene Silhouettes & Work of Art

I am bringing you another basic technique this Tuesday, Solid Stamping. This technique is very quick to do , just ink & stamp! But don’t let it fool you because it is also the first step in several techniques that I will be sharing soon. Stamp sets such as Serene Silhouettes & Work of Art are just a few sets that work great for the solid stamping technique. One of the most common issues that people will have with this technique is getting the solid image. Be sure to watch the video for a few tricks on how to avoid this problem!

Stampin’ Blendabilities- they work well with these other ink colors!

Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers are exclusive, alcohol-based marker sets that come in a 3-pack of light, medium, and dark shades (of the same color), and provide your projects a more saturated look with blended colors. But did you know they work well with several of our Classic Stampin’ Pads? Keep in mind that colors not listed are prone to smearing and aren’t recommended for use with Stampin’ Blendabilities. Also, remember that you’ll get the best blending results using Whisper White Cardstock and when the stamped image is completely dry.

Classic Stampin’ Pads
Always Artichoke
Baked Brown Sugar

Fall Project

I spent the day yesterday canning salsa~ and I have 3 more bushels of tomatoes to process! Guess you know what I am doing this weekend!! I thought I would take a break this morning and create a few fall projects. Yeah right, your hands are raw from all the acid and your mind is on the Garth Brooks concert I am going to tonight. How much creating do think I could do? Right. Not much. But I was able to play a little bit and am quite happy with the results! Here is one tid-bit  of what I did. I am sharing another tid bit on my Facebook Page.

#FeatherFramelits Isn’t it just sparkly gorgeous??

Technique Tip: I colored our #SilverGlimmerPaper using rubbing alcohol & Tangelo Twist & Elegant Eggplant reinkers. These two elements made this project extra special!  Be sure to check out the other tid bit on my Facebook Page!

Be sure to come back to see what I make with these two elements!

Blended Bloom Floating Reinker Technique

As promised, I am sharing a technique using our reinkers ( ink refills). I wanted to use a few of the colors that are included in this weeks Weekly Deals. I received a swap card at convention last year  where Cindy R. (sorry no last name on the card) used a similar layout , only she colored the top of  our retired Manhatten Flower image by water coloring the petals.  I loved the idea of having the top 1/2 of the flower colored and the bottom just the outlines. I knew that the Floating Reinker Technique is a great alternative to coloring the petals.

Excited to learn how to do this quick & easy technique? Just click on the photo and it will bring you right to them!

How would you like a video showing you step by step how to do the Floating Reinker Technique? Sorry~you’ll have to wait until tomorrow for it!

Blendabilities Storage Quick Tip

I am hoping to help many of you with your Blendabilities Storage by sharing this “QT” (quick tip) today. Blendabilities Storage Tip

This is how I am currently storing my Blendabilities. I love this container because I can “grab & go” with my whole collection if I need to. This is just a temporary solution, for me, but it is giving me an idea on what my long-term storage & organization for my Blendabilities will be. Here’s a “QT” video on my solution.

I hope this helps you in deciding on how you wish to organize and store your Blendabilities!

Don’t forget, you can now order from our 2014 Holiday Catalog!!

Vivid Vases

I spent some time this past weekend working in my vegetable garden. As I was working in it I was wishing I had the flower gardens at this house that I had in our past house. I have begun planning my gardens so they are currently a work in progress- this is the year of getting rid of all the weeds and unwanted vegetation. I think it may take more than one season because I have several different plants that grow from roots. I did plant a few marigolds because I just can’t go with no flowers! I came in to prepare my technique & project for this week and was still thinking of the variety of flowers in my past gardens.

I went directly to my Vivid Vases stamp set because I love that I can do a variety of techniques with it. I was inspired by a swap I received at convention this year. The creator of the swap used our Signo White gel pen on her swap. While I could use the same technique she did I am wanting to share how to add color to your stamped images when using darker cardstock colors.
